What's harder than six championships is owing bets to wiseguys who send button men to kill your father.

This is gonna sound dumb - but Russ' triple double thing is MUCH harder than winning 6 championships.

In the history of the NBA there are 13 guys with 6 titles or more.
In the history of the NBA there is exactly 1 player who has averaged a triple double over 3 years.

Say what you want about Westbrook and stat padding, it's probably fair, but the guy is still doing something ridiculously amazing.
And that pales in comparison to what Harden has been doing this season.....

I wonder if he would have won 6 titles if Hakeem, Barkley, and Payton were all on one team...oh and lets add Joe Dumars and Reggie Miller to that team too, just for laughs and giggles.

That's what the Warriors are...2 MVP players on one team surrounded by literal all-star players.

I don't think he meant it as any disrespect to any player though but it's really unfair to knock players for not beating super teams and it seems it's very selective who people decide to knock for it. Anthony Davis gets praise for his playoff efforts as his team gets swept but Harden gets called a choker for blowing a 7 game series against the Warriors...okay then.

Harder does not equal rarity. First, it is incredible what Westbrook is doing, so I don't want to take that away from him. However, I have no doubt, that if MJ, LBJ or Harden had set out to average triple-double in their prime that they can't achieve it. So is it rare? Yes, but basketball is about team game at the end of the day, so rings over any individual record. I would argue that it is harder to achieve a championship because it goes beyond one person. If MJ didn't have the right support (players, coaching staff, front office, exec) he would not have 6 rings.

This is nothing. Jordan was making light of the question, because he's not really allowed to directly answer it and show any favoritism towards an opposing player. Good answer, IMO.

Michael Jordan I think is more controversial than any NBA player in history, he's a gambling addict, he owed so much money and didn't pay off the mafia, in which they killed his father. The Illuminati punished Jordan playing baseball. The referees did rig games for him. His Championships came from Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Isaiah Thomas retiring. I really doubt Michael can beat those players and teams if they were in their prime. Larry Bird just dominated Michael Jordan, especially in Isolation, Jordan defense was overrated.
Michael Jordan can't guard Drazen Petrovich and Mahmoud Abdul Rauf.
Michael Jordan had a baby with Juanita before marriage, media hides and protects Jordan and didn't report this, to protect his Image. He married Juanita than cheated on her around 2002. Michael Jordan parties in clubs and random pictures have surfaced, with grinding up on random white girls. He is selfish as they come. Other players have called out on Jordan that making money is more important than helping people, or being a leader towards people.

Man, did he get more eloquent? He will be a hell of analyst than Barkley.

Agreed, Kobe and MJ are so arrogant. He would be liked and respected as the goat if he just gave props. Or if he just answered the question saying one or both THEN saying but Winning 6 is harder.

Off the court stuff, I think there are plenty of guys in the league that have faults. Didn’t the logo have the book saying Magic would have hookers come to the locker room after the game in the locker room. I think in general players in this generation has less extracurricular activities like that compared to those in the 70s and 80s.

That’s the competiveness and it’s not I try to be competitive. I think they are naturally wired that way.

Which somehow makes him different (somehow) from KD, who was on that same team that choked to that same Warriors team? AND THEN JOINED THEM!

The only difference between those 3 players (KD, Harden, and Westbrook) is that the other 2 didn't take the easy way out. Now KD has 2 rings and changed his stripes from a choke artist to a snake.

There are many great players that did not win rings, not everyone falls into the best opportunity to win a ring. Especially when you consistently have to go against one of the best teams to ever be constructed, again, and then again, and reconstructed one more time.

Regardless of his faults, his personal life, his personality, etc., MJ was and is the GOAT, best basketball player at his position of all time. Anyone that thinks otherwise, didn't see him play.

Yeah, it's kinda sad that he even feels the need to defend himself. Probably suffering from AJS (Aging Jock Syndrome).

    Exactly.
James Harden is playing well. That's fantastic. Its gravy if the team is winning. Scoring average is not as important as winning. Winning as a team is more valuable than individual adulation.
Winning in the playoffs is what counts
Oklahoma is 17-6 when Westbrook is reaching his triple doubles. So his triple doubles are a valuable contribution and lead to the expected result of winning.
