If Westbrook is going to have a word on his destination i really doubt it's going to be Detroit, bottom tier organization with annoying players on the roster...would definitely pick Miami or Houston over them.

I think Houston has a similar reputation... just that a couple of our annoying guys are actually very talented.

I don't think Morey has sat on his arse the entire off-season. There are just better basketball situations out there for lower-tier free agents to play. Our style of basketball was atrocious last season. Our four guards, Gordon, Rivers, Paul and Harden have all spoken out against our offense.

I doubt Westbrook is going to have heavy/considerable influence on where he goes if he gets traded.

Nah bro, come on...the Pistons have been a bottom tier organization for like 10 years at this point, they are right there with Phoeni, Chicago, Sacramento and the Knicks...Detroit is also not exactly a place where players love. Plus having to deal with guys like Drummond, Blake, Kieff...i'd rather play in Phoenix with that little b**** of Booker tbh.

Just like all the other marquee players who’ve had mutual interest in playing for us.

I agree, but reading that tweet i guess they would at least let him pick his destination in a scenario where the offers are kinda similar.

I just sat back and realize that, on July 8th 2019, we are talking about Russell Westbrook putting on a Rockets uniform.

It's incredible how the summer of 2016 still have lingering effects on this team.

Trading for Russ and keeping CP3 seems silly because 1) it's much harder to stagger minutes for three dominant, primary ballhandlers, 2) Westbrook can't shoot. Portland literally left him wide open in the first round and he couldn't punish them, and 3) our iso-heavy offense dictates that Westbrook would never handle a possession (50.1 TS% last year). He'd be one of our least efficient options.

I bet he does. That Franchise loves him like crazy.

If PG was able to pick his spot, Russ will be able to as well, or they will just keep him.

PG picked his spot because the Clippers were ready to surrender a ton of asset to get him because there was a Kawhi Leonard at the end of the tunnel. Plus, as we saw last season, George was the better player between the two.

The number of teams that need an inefficient scorer playing the point guard making super max money is pretty limited, even moreso if Presti is wanting both expiring contracts AND future picks back.

Well, given the fact the Westbrook grabs most of the defensive rebounds, it is extremely likely that he will take the ball down court rather than let Harden do his thing. Unless of course we want the opponents to hit all their shots so there's no chance for Westbrook to snatch any rebounds. :D

Rox should be going after Gallo, not RWB.

S&T Shumpert (balloon payment) and a 1st for him and prosper.

Except that if there's nothing in transition, Russ will still go full speed to the hoop. His one-man fast break is not to be stopped by a mere situation of "nothing in transition"!

This move might have to happen now which would mean Miami but OKC may want to let the dust settle to have more flexibility with rosters. If we waited until 12/15 we could slaughter LAL and Miami over taking on CP3 and actually getting stuff back with no picks needed. It would allow us to ship Brodie to Wash for Beal or Toronto for Lowry and maximize picks for OKC and talent for us. None of those teams have picks, we do and the ability to package expirings. It is about aligning interests. To get the most out of this team we need to use Shumpert and Nene’s S&T now. With Nene we could also send our money so that when they waive him he collects the check and retires.
