    Lowry number 8? Please.

I break my top ten down into tiers.

    Tier 1:
    Paul, Rose*

    Tier 2:
    Westbrook, Parker

    Tier 3:
Irving, Rondo, Williams, Rubio, Curry, Wall, Lillard

*assume Rose returns to at least 95%

When I am not seeing Parker on the top 3, I know the author does not know basketball.

Please show me 1 player, anyone that can stop Parker penetrating the paint?

I see it this way -

    Tier 1:
    Chris Paul

    Tier 2:
    Healthy Rose, Westbrook, Parker

    Tier 3:
Irving (could very well jump to tier 2 with likely improvement given his hage), Deron Williams, Curry, Wall

I'm getting the sense that you guys didn't actually read the article. The rankings are based on projected WARP, it's not a list ranking the top 10 PGs in the league.

Toronto would do Lin for Lowry swap in a heartbeat. Right now,Lin's a better player/shooter when playing off the ball. Lowry still needs to prove he can play with Rudy Gay.

WTH is Lowry doing on this list? I'd put Vasquez before I put Lowry.

On the one hand, you're right. He's running a model and telling us the output of his model. He's not going to go do this model and at the end say, 'oh well, I'll just bump up Parker to #3, that feels about right.' On the other hand, a model that puts Parker that low probably has systemic problems.

And, he DOES say it's a listing of the top-10 PGs. He says WARP is "perfect for this kind of exercise" of ranking the top players.

Ugh, the reason they give for excluding Parker is his age (32 next season)... Seriously, do they expect him to just drop off the map in 1 year after being a top 2 PG last season?

    Edit:
Exactly, this is the projected WARP and not the WARP using stats from last season. That's why you have Parker with a WARP lower than his 2 previous seasons. They're predicting improvements (Kyrie, etc.) and drop-offs (Parker, etc.)... Considering there is still an element of human input in these "stats"... I think it's fair for people to critique it.

If I had to pay to read this stuff, I'd be a bit ticked off. Still, thanks to the OP for posting it, even if the ratings make little sense, at least to me.

Lost credibility as soon as I saw Parker didn't make top 10 and Rondo wasn't even in the discussion.
Even after a whole season out, Rose got into the top 8 so I would expect Rondo to make it too.

This is piling on, but Bradford Doolittle should be fired for listing Tony Parker as the THIRTEENTH best point guard.

    Kyle Lowry > Lawson/Lillard > Tony Parker

LMFAO!!! Even the biggest Lowry homer wouldn't think that.

    Delusion Bradford Doolittle
