For Asik, no knock on him, but he only played 15 mpg last year..Him having a high rank is based on potential that he will be more than a back up. Back ups rarely make the top 100
His ranking is based on what he did as a back up in Chicago last season. His potential as a starter this upcoming season has nothing to do with it.
Omer has more unknowns than Lin. Asik hadn't faced the first tier centers with any substaintial amount of time. Nor had he faced the the best of the west. This will be a difficult learning year for him, without a doubt!
Considering that he was criminally underrated, the jump should've been far less than it actually will be.
So before his ranking even comes out, you're saying its going to be lower than deserved? What do YOU think his ranking should be? Within top 75? top 50? top 25?
Pick a ranking. This way if Lin goes higher than that, we don't have to hear you bit*h and moan about how he's underrated.
I'd say based on what we've seen so far (not marketability, potential/upside) a 90-100 ranking would be fair. He had a historic 10/12 games, 10/15 good/average & THAT pathetic game where he couldn't bring the ball up the court against Norris Cole & Mario Chalmers of all players. I'd say that's fair for someone who was ranked 472 less than a year ago. Because of the small sample size no one is really sure which one the real Jeremy Lin is. Linsanity, the 12/6 player or God forbid the one who got outclassed by Chalmers on National TV? In what way was he underrated exactly? He was pretty much a regular in the D-League during his rookie season, no?
Regarding that game, I have no problem with his field goal percentage or his turnovers. It's the fact he couldn't bring the ball up the court that worries me.
You complain about the small sample size and then single out ONE game to make your argument. Wow... Dragic only has a 26 game sample size as a starter. At least be a little consistent in your haterade.
