I don't think people should be freaking out over rankings. It is just a fun way to get discussion & get fans excited for the next season. & also for ESPN to make money lol. I want to see how Lowry & Dragic do, particularly Goran want to see how much he moved up. I don't put much stock into these rankings, there just fun.
Really? Wow. My bad then. I figured they'd be close, but then again, these rankings don't really matter.
Parsons & Lin & Martin & Asik are the four that I can remember off the top of my head. I don't know if all the rookies have gone yet. I know Lamb went. Not sure about Dmo White Jones.
You figure there are 30 teams in NBA, five starters each team. Anyone within 150 is a 'starter material' by ESPN ranking. Lets see who makes the cut.
As of today.... Code: 2011 2012 Score Kevin Martin Jeremy Lin 460 152 4.81 Chandler Parsons Omer Asik 200 175 4.59 Carlos Delfino 260 231 4.02 Partick Peterson 267 3.61 Jeremy Lamb 328 280 3.52 Shaun Livingston 290 3.41 Royce White 311 3.25 Terrence Jones 344 318 3.16 Marcus Morris 193 321 3.13 Toney Douglas 386 324 3.12 Donatas Motiejunas 332 349 2.90 Gary Forbes 337 367 2.79 Jon Brockman 407 388 2.63 JaJuan Johnson 495 1.56 Diamon Simpson
There is a chance JLin is the best ranked player depending on how far Martin is falling but he is falling. He once was a Top 45 player.
Yeah but once they took away his go-to move (the flop) he's nothing but a volume shooter with abysmal defense. And last year he wasn't even good at that.
Larry Coon @LarryCoon An #NBARank note: Biggest rise so far is Isaiah Thomas +314. With 1-140 yet to be announced, Jeremy Lin is guaranteed to be at least +327. Larry Coon @LarryCoon ...Lin was ranked 467 last aseason.
He was #156 in 2011. Now that he is a starter he will move up even more for next year. Asik was a great signing.
So far, my predictions have been ok. Asik: 99 (-1) Parsons: 152 (+2) DMo: 324 (WAY OFF) Now just waiting on Lin and Martin.
Lins ranking will be lower than deserved..he has gone through a lot of very negative media recently. People even say he is a scrub. But he is a very good point guard.
