Ask any contractor who's worked for him and they'll tell you the same thing. Notorious for not paying, claiming defects or shoddy work and then trying to renegotiate.

Yes, he was. Nook's description is pretty accurate. Elvin was a great, great player. His UH career led me to the San Diego Rockets, because they drafted him 1st in his draft and he didn't disappoint as Rookie of the Year with incredible numbers. More to the point, yes, Hayes was kind of a dick. That's an understatement, in my opinion.

Elvin drove his fellow teammates crazy. His ego was as large as his talent (and remains, based on the quotes from him in the story about his interest in "buying" the Rockets), and he got royally pissed off at the slightest comment from anyone that he could manage to interpret as criticism, whether it was meant as that or not. This is coming from a fan. If he is "allied" with Fertitta's alleged interest in purchasing the team, then I hope the attempt by Elvin's group falls through. That what you're looking for, Sam?
