interned at 13 back in '94. I wasn't around him a whole lot, but when I was he was always very friendly and supportive. Nice guy. Sad to see him go. Rest In Peace.

Dang, he was one of the OG's. I remember I used to him bowling at the Palace Lanes on Bellaire.

Ch13 news was always the best news. Ch2 was I guess a bit legit.

Who was on 11, I don't remember them at all?

Dr. Neil, forgot he was on CBS.

Who would your all-star old-school Houston news be?

Dave Ward, Bill Balleza, Shara Fryer, Dr. Neil, Craig Roberts, Mark Berman, Dr. Red Duke, Marvin Zindler

It would have to be an hour long newscast to give them all ample screentime.

Solid list. I'd switch Balleza with Ron Stone.

Did Mark Berman work here? I know Dan Rather, Jim Nantz, Ron Franklin and Hannah Storm did earlier in their careers.

Totally forgot Ron Stone, not sure how. He's in, of course, sorry Bill.

Berman was on Fox. He's out for Ron Franklin, who I also completely forgot.

Was Ed Brandon the 2nd best weatherman?

    Greatest single newscrew ever:

Holy cow. When my father was in a bowling league and I went to one of his games Ed Brandon was there. I was like 5 years old but I introduced myself to him because he was my favorite guy on Channel 13.

He was very nice to me.

    RIP

Go to 11:30 if you want to see who the Anchor at KHOU was back in the 80's/90's. Steve Smith, I think? And I totally forgot about Jan Carson.

EDIT: I watched the whole thing, but go to 30:08 to see Ed Brandon and the KTRK crew back then.

Crap. I used to love watching Ed, Marvin, Dave, and Bob. Ed had his demons, and when he momentarily fell from grace and left, KTRK's news broadcasts just weren't the same to me. Interesting tidbit : he wasn't a meteorologist.

Sorry to hear that. I remember watching him and that old school crew when growing up in Clear Lake. I don't remember him ever having hair but I guess he did at one point. RIP
