Weren't velociraptors also pretty small? Nowhere near as big and scary as in the movies, from what I recall reading.
Like I called it: Lowry was too deferential and all the other players were cowards, except for DeRozan (who's shot was off the entire game). The others should have adapted by shooting more down the stretch. They passed up several wide open shots. From memory, the worst offender was Delon Wright.

You are correct.They were about the size of turkeys IIRC. I think the movie explained it away with gene splicing or something with other species that made them bigger. I was thinking it'd be cool if the Raptors would at least put feathers on their logo since that's what the science suggests these days.
Different types of Raptors though. I think there also different subspecies of Velociraptors who were bigger. Also a Mega raptor who was bigger than the Utah Raptor.
Oh good point. I wasn't aware of the Mega Raptor. I think the Toronto Raptors were based on the movie though which clearly called the creatures Velociraptors and had fuzzy science. The point here is the Raptors are based on a lie and Derozan sometimes will exhibit traits of a stegosaurus, who had the brain the size of a walnut.
