I hate Malone, but this is just incorrect. For starters, he fit in perfectly with the Lakers. Picked up the triangle instantly (Payton was the one who looked lost). He retired because he injured his knee. A lot of people cited his absence as the biggest reason the Lakers were smoked in the Finals.

Flopton obviously made his life easier in the Jazz years, but he wasn't really a ball dominant PG (and contrary to popular belief, Malone wasn't an explosive PnR finisher). Most of KM's points came from running the floor hard in transition and shooting mid-range jumpers in isolation.

Totally correct. Dwight Howard would have to work very hard on his shooting mechanics to model his game after those two. Instead, the easiest and quickest transition would have been what the Rockets needed from him, pick n roll dunker and defensive stopper. Besides lateral quickness for switching on to guards, he would have been a monster on the current Rox team. Much better potential than Capela, who doesn’t have the physique.

I think he could have delayed the modern teams (GSW, Cavs, Rox) or had successful seasons before the modern NBA, if he was able to dominate like Shaq with physique and skill, who he has the most similarities with. Physique is there with DH, just not the skills or smarts as Shaq.

He doesn’t have the heart, smarts, or just stubborn to do either paths. He defiantly could not be Kemp or Malone. Shaq is what he could have been and better yet would have been the better version of Capela/DeAndre.

All said and done Dwight became a Deandre Jordan with better post moves.

He was dominant for a few years in the Magic no doubt when nobody could match his strength and athleticism, he could get you like 10-15 points on put backs alone.

Kinda sucks he never developed any kinda jump shot after all these years. All the great centers in history had other ways to score other than to rely purely on length and strength. Dwight isn't nearly as big or tall like Shaq to play like him for a whole career.

Dwight is a terrible teammate and has proven to be a drain and not a fountain. He will never win a championship as the 1st or 4th best player on a team. He will surely Tmac in SanAntonio it a few years down the line.

Aren't the Nets tanking? This is akin to Kelvin Cato's 10 block game in the preseason...

Nets pick belong to Cavs (via Celtics), so way to bash d12.

30 and 30, unfortunately not making the play-offs. Would like to see how he does.

He's also a good father and husband to 5 kids fathered with 5 differen women.

What a great guy. His child support money is always on time. A-OK.

Never defeated. I don't care what you say, he's still a champion no matter what.

Point taken... but the competition is still inferior. Hot take... Capela could probably do the same if he was featured more on offense, and the Rockets played at a faster pace.

Don't diminish D12 accomplishment, if it was easy it would of happened more often.

Rockets fans would take offense to those people saying Harden 60pt triple double came against the Magic because they are tanking.

I Don’t like Dwight but your wrong. You gotta respect a 30/30 stat line.

If capela got 30 rbds it would be his best game ever by a long shot. If he somehow added 30pts on top of it (idc if he had a 50%usg) that would be doubly amazing.

It’s an incredible feat, against a inferior team who’s weakest position is center. They are a horrible rebounding team and this is just a meaningless regular season game.

None the less, it’s incredible and I wish I would had played him in DFS instead of Myles Turner.

Statistically Howard will retire a top 15ish player ever in raw numbers points/blocks/rebounds.
