I would be shocked if he's not headed to the Lakers. To potentially be a starter for the reigning champs seems like a homerun
He’s going to LA. With JJ traded to Dallas this is probably the team Brooklyn will have. I don’t see any other buyout candidates. They could have used some wing defense.
The nets have a deep rotation as is when everyone is available. You're only going to play so many guys. This is clearly the favorite to win it for good reason and no other contender made any big moves to counter that. That's a ton of versatility and weapons. 1. Harden 2. KD 3. Kyrie 4. DJ. 5. Harris 6. Uncle Jeff 7. BB 8. Claxton 9. BG 10. Shamet
Don’t forget about Tyler Johnson. But yeah I agree. It still would have been ideal if they could have gotten some type of wing defender to throw out there against the dude from The Bucks or Phili or even Miami for 8-10 minutes a game. Too bad Spencer wont be back.
I think they're over the cap though. I think best they can do is the vet min, and Drummond isn't signing for that.
He could could to the nets but KD and Kyrie would be mad if he took DJ's minutes. AD probably wants to play a lot of minutes so he can get paid next year. Gasol looks washed.
MLE and DPE money still free to use and open roster spot. Oh and they know they are in the LT and paying. Must be nice
Is this guy actually good? As in impactful in a positive way? I see he has nice numbers and he's 27...
Yes, he’s an impactful player. He’s just incredibly unhappy in Cleveland and they have their new shiny toy in Jarrett Allen.
I hope he goes to the Knicks. They can offer him something like 18M. They can even make it multiple years right now if they want to. That's probably more than the contract he's gonna be auditioning for through this buyout. This is a pretty unique situation where a team has significant cap space mid season and a player becomes available for that cap space before free agency. I don't think that's ever happened before.
