iPhones are encrypted if you enable security. only way cops could unlock it is with your passcode. No passcode, no way to get into the phone. Why do you think the FBI wanted apple to help with San Bernadino.

Yeah I understand the phone itself, but couldn't the feds just go through your cell service provider to get access to your text messages?

So much for that. Cops got in without Apple.

Got in a 5c. that phone is not even half as secure as the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 has a separate computer inside that encrypts. The difference is a like a 85 civic and a 2016 Mercedes.

The story that the FBI couldn't get in is a GIANT LIE. They always could (thanks to the NSA) but wanted to set the precedent legally. They failed but the investigation had to continue so they used the NSA anyway. They'll try legally again which means expect another terror attack soon.

The thread title looks like one of those annyoing ads you see when you're searching random ish online. "Trainers hate this product!" "How to lose weight by sleeping explained!"

Think probably 95% of criminals are too dumb not to get caught, uneducated, lack of intelligence, so it's worth a run to see who we grab, but of course a handful of criminals will find a solution and way to get around. But Criminals are so dumb the police actually call stolen cell phones and u wouldn't believe how many criminals pick up and answer and meet disguised cops face to face.
