Punter! There is a great article in this month issue of GQ. Not only was he an amazing quarterback, he was a state recognized pitcher, shortstop and doubled on his high school football team as their punter. By his senior year, he was a top-five recruit in football, a top five prospect in baseball and the best high school punter in the country. Maybe he won't catch on as our QB but he could be quite the weapon on special teams. Doubtful but interesting.
Didn't they just sign Chad Stanley to a new contract? Maybe we can put him as a backup punter...hehe.
Anybody see Chris Mortensen talking about Henson on ESPN on Sunday? He said the Steelers are high on Henson's list of teams he would play for, and the Steelers would love to have Henson. The problem is Houston has the rights to him and the Yankees are still paying him a ton of money. It would take a minor miracle for the Steelers to get Henson, but anything's possible I guess.
I wonder what can we get in return for Henson if everyone makes him out to be a big deal? Maybe currently rear-shot Joey Porter? Or the "BUS" Jerome Bettis?
It's really up to Henson at this point. He can put his fate into our hands or he can put into the draft. But it would seem silly for him to give up control. I wouldn't want to play for the Steelers. Cowher is a great coach, but he mishandled his QB situation for a few years now.
yikes! bettis?!?! they'll try to convert henson into a higher pick, which would make for a nice ROI on their initial 6th round pick. my guess is that there will be a gaggle of conditional picks.
No miracle required, just a ton of money & the right trade package for the Texans. How about Clark Haggans (OLB) & a 2nd or 3rd round pick?
Can't we package Henson with Cat and Eddie Griffen? Everybody trade I have heard lately has had them in it.
