lol. If I want comedy, I can go to FARK and probably find something hilarious, but where do I go if I want something Rockets-related? I want Rockets and basketball! Don't cheapen the rep points! Seriously, I may have given points for something non-basketball/Rockets related, but I try not to.
Scribo got reps because he did something really useful for many people. But he hardly ever participates in any basketball discussions outside of his own threads. Same with R2K's videos. I suspect that DD got his reps mostly from his radio recaps and maybe some of the video commentaries he posted, rather than his big quantity of basketball discussions. I think people doing these useful things well deserve the reps. However, I wish good thoughtful discussion posts could attract rep points as much so that high quality discussions would be encouraged.
guilty as charged, tho to be fair....what little time I have here is taken with looking out for posts and threads that need mod action. I do from time to time post a CBA reference to clarify a cap question....but you are correct in that I rarely participate in the what-if scenarios that are a staple of the off-season. If it makes you feel any better...I know there are quite a few members who save their reps for good quality posts rather than just things that make them LOL. I normally hand out reps in GARM and in D&D since GARM isnt the only forum we should be encouraging quality posts in.
I think we should have it.....but....just leave it blank....and let people write what they want. We're adults here, and human beings. We all have common sense. Ya know? That way it's more free-er. I'm a fan of FREEDOM, lol. I promise it has nothing to do with "slavery."

Because you, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. I'm more concerned about getting you to post more in those forums (aside from the excellent job you do for us with your video work!), because we need more groovy cats like you bringing your take and spreading some enlightenment. Consider on it, my friend. By the way... my son just graduated from high school and is going off to Madison, Wisconsin to the university there. Our pad just got larger (well, it will in 7-8 weeks, anyway), and I'm going to put up an aquarium again in the extra space. Trying to decide between the freshwater fish I have loved for so long (clown loaches, Congo and cardinal tetras, dwarf Central and South American cichlids, and a bunch of other goodies), or a salt water tank. Whatever I do will be a gas! (sorry for the derail, fellow Fish Person)
