I found this site through fark.com. I wonder why they (the photographers)
feel the need to employ these tactics to do their jobs. It makes trusting
the media more and more difficult. Good thing there are people vigilant enough
    to catch these things.

Please bunk or debunk as needed.

Oh really? Just where were these "people" when we "landed" on the moon in a Houston warehouse?

I think it is an interesting subject because there's still a lot of gray regarding what constitutes journalistic fraud in photography. It seems to me this essay nitpicks about a lot of stuff. I think the manipulated photos are a problem, but they seem to be the work of one man, who has been fired. I couldn't really follow his argument on the Hezbollah-staged scenes. What was the business about the car? As for staging scenes, in general, I'm not sure how unethical it is. The corpses are of people killed in the bombing; how material is it that the worker was spending his time mugging for photos?

He also seems to have a misunderstanding about dates. Just because the photo is dated August 5th doesn't mean something happened that day. That was the day the picture was taken. A building could have been bombed two weeks earlier and repeatedly photographed thereafter. This objection just seems dumb.
