I was always confident he would be solid, but early results have me pretty optimistic he can be better than just solid. He's brought that vicious slider to the rotation, and he still has the mchammer in his arsenal. He's missing bats at the same rate as last season, and he's kept his pitch count manageable so that he can comfortably go 6. Not ready to pencil him in for the Cy Young, but very promising results through his first 3 starts.
As a team, yes, I am quite aware our pitching has been very good. Doesn't change the fact certain individuals haven't been. Your not going all Polyanna on us are you?
Only question is do you have him pitch in game 1,2, or 3 in the playoffs. His stuff is that electric.
Are you really going to pretend that threads here stay pointedly on topic? That viewpoints and opinions as a rule dont wonder into related and unrelated ground? Hell, the 2nd post in this thread went on to mention other pitchers. Evidently, the shoes your talking about must be elastic because they seem to fit half the posts on this site .
Some of us can be as happy as you are about the team and not spurn those that point out its deficiencies.
Feel the same way. He's battle tested, been very productive in the past, and more importantly he's hungry and playing for a new contract (and given the opportunity as a starter this yr which is more -or can be- more lucrative than coming out of the pen).
Perhaps "spurn" was a little strong and misplaced. But I felt called out for making comments rooted in fact (to this point).
You seem to mention this when you see ive gotten in some argument with someone else. You wouldn't be trying to bait me would you?
