    I understand what you are saying... but its nearly impossible with a salary cap and today's salaries in general to put together a starting lineup of 5 equally talented players. Would it be optimal to put 5 stud players out on the court at once? Sure. But that is almost a pipe dream. There are several factors in the way teams are setup, its not all about teams trying to follow the "alpha+beta+supporting cast" mold.
