    Anyone play?

I've played most of the courses in south Austin but that's about it. Play only for fun when the weather is nice.

Want to play in Houston this weekend. Any good courses out there? Heard there was a tough one along the bayou.

There are several in the Woodlands. Also one on Hammerly just inside the Beltway.

There is a super nice 18 hole disc course in the Bridgeland neighborhood off of 290 in Cypress.

Many holes along the water, very nice.

Fad? That's nice but I love me some disc golf.

New course being developed by some friends of mine in Houston:
Texas Army Trail Disc Golf Course

Heading down from Austin this weekend to check it out.

Wells Branch (North Austin) is my home course. Anyone else play?

Fad? Really? Like you KNOW? Ignorant asswipes everywhere! I bet I've thrown a disc longer than you've been alive...Fad? Get real.

Don't know much about Houston's courses but if you're EVER in Memphis, head to Shelby Forest...

That's right by my office. I work at Grand Avenue and Wells Point.

My wife actually gave me some discs for my birthday because we've always talked about trying it, but we haven't played yet. (mostly cause it's summer and crazy hot/dry)

I take my kids to the course here in Circle C, it is a good time when it is not too hot.

Ignorance is running amuck, what can I say. Anyway, to come into a thread just to crap on it is weak tihs (read backwards)...excuse the purposeful pun.

Moffitt Park is probably my favorite but only when it's dry out. T.C. Jester is a quick 9 hole course. Mazola Memorial is good but you have to watch out there, you may lose some discs in the bayou if you aren't careful.

Back in the seventies we called it Frisbee Golf.

    Apparently, a very long-lived fad.

    Aren't fads usually short?

(although there's nothing wrong with that)

Its like playing Captain America if he had a tiny shield. Except for the complete lack of vintage 1940's laser guns. My grandfather gave me his standard issue WW2 laser gun before he died. Now every time I see someone laser blastin in the name of the country, I think of him.

Yeah, Wham-o got pissed and made the association rename their game. I think the game, in some form, has been around since the 60s.

I love me some disc golf. There are not a ton of places to play here, but I see more and more popping up. I have just started making my own around town. I find objects to mark as holes and just play certain spots. Its pretty fun that way. I have added roads and sidewalks as water on the course. It makes it just as challenging. If you have some open space, just make your own, it can be a lot of fun.
