DirectTV channel for Rockets game?

    So I'm home for the holidays and was wondering if somebody could tell me what channel broadcasts the Rockets games? I searched similar threads, but still cannot find the channel. Don't tell me I need LP.

    Nope, says "Channel is not available." I don't even have any 900's channels nor the FSN channels.

    Hayesfan is right. Its 678 on my DirectTV and I live in Sugar Land. There are two 678 is normal and 678-1 is the HD channel for the home games.

    None of those channels work for me. :mad:

    Maybe I should call the number they listed on the channel for 678.

    Yeah, I live in a new neighborhood though (BW8 and I-45 South). Maybe that's why it's blocked.

    If you live in Houston and your account is setup with a Houston area, you should get it.

    they only work during rockets games. maybe that's the problem?

    ^^Why is that? My brother and cousin both have cable (not DirecTV) and they get FSN 24/7. I only get it when the Astros or Rockets play. Which sucks because a lot of times there are some really interesting shows about the history of Houston teams or players.

    Is the full FSN not carried by DTV?

    theres an fsnsw channel that has that stuff on it, and then an fsnh (678) channel that is only for exclusive houston broadcast, like rockets and astros game

    Yah he has DirectTV. He just doesn't have a higher level package. He's cheeep like me.

    Here's something, Charlie. Go to DIRECTTV Sports Mix(channel 205). It will show 8 sports channels in a picture-in-a-picture format running at the same time. The upper left picture(usually ESPN) will have a yellow picture frame around it. That means that is the channel you are listening to. You can use the arrows on the remote to move the frame around to the 8 channels shown. I don't have NBA TV or The Golf Channel. But if I don't mind sitting right in front of the tv watching a smaller screen(& I don't), I can watch the game on NBA TV even though I can't watch it on full screen.

    We just got Direct TV so we can take it with us in our rv. We're coming into Houston for Christmas. It'll be interesting to see what channels we get in the Houston area as opposed to the San Antonio hill country area. I'll try that channel 678 when we get set up. Traders Village has become our home-away-from-home when visiting the granddaughters....and the rest of the family too :D
