Every donation for flood victims are welcomed and appreciated. Unless you are part of or represent the diaster response team, the better approach imo is donations with statements and without visits.

the idea of POTUS as national healer and rescuer in chief is repellant, but the disparate treatment by the media based on party affiliation is telling

I agree. Unfortunately I think that either way, for both Trump and Obama, they will get criticized.

Really all that the president or whoever does in seeing the "ground zero" is a tip of the hat. The real business comes down to what kind of funding or relief is sent. So really if you want to be mad at Trump for pandering or mad at Obama for not going that is your right, but getting upset at a/or lack thereof photo op just shows you don't understand the situation.

Not that this should matter at all, but yes, and a bigger percentage of my income than Trump. Have you donated?

Trump doesn't care one bit about the people suffering, he is ONLY there for a photo op to try to repair his image. He flew in, did some quick things to get photographed, had a press conference and flew out.

Obama works closely with the governor to get him what he needs, and stays out of the way during a disaster.

One difference between Trump and Obama is that Trump is willing to hustle and work hard. Trump has demonstrated this work ethic throughout his career and has impressed it upon his children - which you really have to admire.

Obama - not willing to put in the hard work.

I am not sold on the hope, but it certainly looks like some change.

So this is the change we were promised!

Just think what he'd look like if he actually put in the hard work required of the job.

Best President in the last 70 years and one of the top of all time, and one of the hardest working.

We are lucky to have had him and he would get 4 more years if he were allowed.

Too bad it kills all the racist people here - why can't they just cheer for his white side?

There is absolutely nothing to support this statement. It's pure delusional fantasy.

I pretty satisfied to just have a President that I am not embarrassed by.

But, for the 100th time on this forum, all qualitative statements are relative. When you make blanket statements like "Obama is a terrible President" it means absolutely nothing without the context of what is bad President or what is a good President or what should he have been doing he didn't or what did he do that he shouldn't, presented with some sense of reality, accuracy and viable alternatives for peer critique. Anything else is just bloviating puffery.

THE primary context for Mr. Obama is that whatever he did or didn't do in The Executive Branch (not responsible for making law) he was constantly dogged by an openly hostile obstructive Congress that set aside any interests of good governance in quest for political power.

There is zero evidence Obama gets to work early, or stays late, or puts in 80 hour weeks like a typical CEO.

We do know he watches a ton of cable TV and plays a ton of golf, and has been on every entertainment program you can name.

There is zero evidence of your statement above. ( I think the stress effects make it pretty obvious you are dead wrong)
So I''ll make one just as valid:

President Obama is the hardest working President the nation has ever seen. He's on duty every waking moment with an unprecedented electronic connectedness with every department head in the Military and Executive Branch.
