Welp, it appears Watson has a partially collapsed lung and a broken rib. *sigh. Tough of him to play through it though.
DW4 is a tough mofo but he’s lying his ass off saying he didn’t feel pain. Clearly not 100% last week.
He didn't wear extra padding for Buffalo.smh Get compadre watson his dan pastorini special though from the pics of that game it does look like watson had extra padding.
Can't believe we're letting him play through that. Team's not going anywhere this year, just shut him down IMO.
I know it, but the goal is Super Bowl not division champs (brian). Not worth risking Watson's career for that.
When you have Deshaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, JJ Watt, Jadeveon Clowney, Whitney Mercilus, Tyrann Mathieu and many other great players on a team (and all relatively healthy), you gotta go for it.
2018 Week 7 ELO Ranking: 23 The Texans are likely the worst 3-3 team in the league, with an offensive line that has not helped second-year quarterback Deshaun Watson one bit. He’s been resilient nonetheless, generating a positively-graded play on almost one-third of his dropbacks so far. Their defense won the game against the Bills and was stout against Dallas, but they have not been good when having to face good opponents, either. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-2018-pff-nfl-power-rankings-week-7
I'm sure it's more of an atelectasis than a traditional collapsed lung. Calling an atelectasis a collapsed lung is a bit dramatic, as it's the same thing that happens to people with COPD's lungs. If he had a pnuenothorax, which is what people think of when they think of having a collapsed lung, here's no way he plays. He'd be a hit away from a chest tube and a multi day hospitalization. That being said, dude is a warrior. Let's go easy on him for last week. Hope he's feeling better this weekend.
I've had a partially collapsed lung before. They aren't so bad if you are lying on the couch ... playing a football game however would be rough lol. The main thing is that it hurts when you breathe in deeply.
@Andy_Benoit: Watson's best play of 2018...and an illustration of superstar potential. Calm, subtle pocket movement, eyes downfield, excellent throw. https://t.co/IhK64PbOXk
I wonder if will he have the Barry Sanders Syndrome were he has shitty coaching but is so good that team never tanks out so the coaches could/should be fired. Allowing mediocre coaches to last for like 20 yrs. . .like the shitty JEff Fisher Rocket River
Question for the McNairs. I feel Watson loves the game too much, but there is a real risk of injury. He isn't a big dude
Can you believe Jim Caldwell has the best winning percentage of any Lions coach since 1956? He's only one of two coaches since then to even go .500 over more than one season of coaching. Shocking.
Watson needs to learn to just go down, when getting sacked. Don’t fight it, just go down. Also slide, even if it means not getting a first down or td.
They probably didn’t need him to beat Buffalo. But they need him to be as healthy as possible for Jacksonville and beyond.
