If Dems pick up a district that is normally Republicans, that is horrible news for Trump.

no ****. Trump only won it by 1% though. so i dont see how a democrat win is a referendum on Trump's presidency. unless its a landslide.

District 6 is designed to be a Republican district. It's an incredibly uphill climb for a Democrat to be even close there. That said, I don't think people should put too much emphasis on this either way.

If the Dems win that district it is huge, but all it would take is a touch more voter apathy to lose any other race.

And it would have taken the Democrats nearly $31 million to do so.

The Dems needs this to send a message that Trump is death to Repubs for 2018, and is cancerous, so they will then leave his very unpopular side....

    We need:
    • campaign finance reform
    • overturn Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission
    • eliminate gerrymandering

It's a big morale booster for liberals, but the real implication is that this could tip the ACHA one way or the other.

If the ACHA passes, Republicans are unlikely to stop kissing Trump's ring. If it fails, more Rs will defect as the Emperor has no clothes.

Simply put we need a federal, non-partisan council to handle districting.

It's a total joke to let the Congressmen draw up their own districts. That is just asking for abuse.

Creating one layer of separation, like we do with the judicial system, is at bare minimum necessary, if not imperfect.

And it would have taken the GOP more to lose.

Relatively, and this has been a trend, the Dem candidate is supported by many small donors while the Rep candidate is supported by big donors and outside groups.

I'm not really a fan of term limits. I prefer experienced professional legislators rather than rookie neophytes. The voters should be the term limiters.

Both sides will likely tout the end results as a 'win"... just as they did Kansas Montana. Interesting that all three are traditionally republican districts. GA-6th has gone 60% republican in presidential and congressional elections, so if a Democrat wins it probably will be bigger news and I suspect Trump supporters will attempt to portray it as a "no biggie". If the republican wins and holds Price's seat, I suspect republicans will tout this as 'another win for Trump" and Democrats will tout the narrowness of the vote count.

That pendulum swings back and forth. The big question is, did Trump cause it to swing back left faster and harder than expected...

Is the benchmark the 2010 senate special election in Massachusetts?
