    Which Team Do You Cheer For? An N.B.A. Fan Map

    So I took the data from the site above and found the counties where the rockets were one of the top three teams. There were 37 such counties. I also listed the other teams those counties liked.

    <table>
    <tr class="tableizer-firstrow"><th>NAME</th><th>MIA</th><th>LAL</th><th>CHI</th><th>DAL</th><th>SAS</th><th>HOU</th></tr>

    <tr><td>Aransas</td><td>&nbsp;</td><td>&nbsp;</td><td>10.19</td><td>&nbsp;</td><td>40.42</td><td>9.17</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Goliad</td><td>&nbsp;</td><td>8.06</td><td>&nbsp;</td><td>&nbsp;</td><td>46.14</td><td>8.62</td></tr>
    </table>

    Some of the results are kind of surprising. Of the 3435 counties the rockets were only listed top 3 in 38 counties. I also thought they would be more popular in Harris county than Montgomery county.

    We might be a big market team financially, but we're not a big market team in terms of market penetration. Why the hell are we so unpopular?
    And why the hell are there so many bandwagon LA/Chi/Mia fans in our state. :mad:

    We are barely outpacing some of the small market crap teams and some of them have more fans than us! WTF!

    Winning actually makes a difference in fans. How many time Rockets been out of the first round since the Dream era?

    I think its even more telling that even with Howard and Harden we don't have any bandwagoners joining our ranks. Other than the fairweather Houston fans that left after T-Mac and Yao did.

    Don't forget, this is based solely on those who "liked" a team's Facebook page.

    Okay well that changes a lot. I guess you could have done it based on tv ratings but then again Comcast has f**ked everything up.

    Yep, Spurs/Lakers/Mavs here in Burnet/Blanco/Llano/Gillespie/San Saba counties.

    Weird that the Rox can't crack the top 3 anywhere in SW Louisiana or Central Texas...I guess 15 years of suck will do that to a casual fanbase.

    Big market cities will not promote Texas Teams more because Texas is so powerful other States are very jealous so less Air time in Entertainment Cities. They hate that Texas can be a country on its own while states are suffering depressions.

    Doesn't this correlate with the ESPN bias?

    No fans, no penetration.
