I’m with ya. Just the messenger. That said, the Rockets have been pretty damn good the last few years. We just all have championship aspirations. I’m not going to give Morey a free pass, but appreciate what he has done. Still believe he’s good enough to build a championship roster.
Lol we can't . We unless we sign shumpert to a 20 mil dollar deal , there really isn't a way to add that much salary to the roster . We can sign MLE and some vet min guys , that will take us INTO the LT , but "deep into" lmao .
Honestly I wish he wouldn't do this. It gets fans excited thinking something is going to happen that is extremely unlikely.
Is he hoping to get Cousins (aka 3rd "star") for the MLE? That would free him up to deal Capela for a pick and/or a 3&D player. Cousins is no where near Capela's level in terms of defense but he adds an element that we need--a big that can be a perimeter threat.
Of course that’s not the version of Cousins the Rockets avoided facing when he got hurt in the first round.
Morey is a top 3 GM, but the last reason you give an interview like this is to inform the fans. The organization wants to make sure it doesn't have an image as a dysfunctional group to free agents. Morey probably also used some misdirection during the interview to disguise his true intentions during ongoing trade talks with other teams. He's just doing his job & doing it well in my opinion.
Jeez, Paul's play slightly dropped from the year we had 60 wins, and he is on a large, bad contract. But that doesn't mean he turned into Ricky Rubio.
So who are the many MLE options Morey alluding to? Other than Rivers and Faried? Aminu, Favors, Danny Green, Terrence Ross, Reggie Bullock ... Corey Brewer???
