Rockets have maybe three 2-way players. Such a low number is mind-boggling considering all we need on one-way is *average* 3PT%. House produced on both ends and could create his own shot well enough.
I use to think House was overrated to. I would see his name pop up from one team to the next. I use to think what is supposed o be the big deal about a guy who cant make a team, maybe he makes a few highlights but in the end he is expendable. Until I seen him play with our team in the past we had other players like him. Carl Herrera, Robert Horry ,Mario Elie, Chucky Brown, Chuck Hayes all players that wouldn't make a huge difference by themselves but the teams that they played on would not been as good without them. House is this generations version of them in terms of the impact he makes with this team. The reigning MVP says nothing but good about this guy if Lebron James Kobe or MJ spoke of a guys value in the papers and on national T.V. we would believe the guy has value the same is the case here James Harden is the MVP if he said the guy was trash I would go with it but he is not
House was third leading against golden state. Only weakness got house in the golden state was he ain't get double digits rebounds!
He maybe the only one left to sign when the TIME comes. Like him or not your choice is him or nothing. We will take House and pretend it is the best move we could ever have done.
I think House gets overrated here because he shot the ball from 3 so well: 39% in 25 games played Last year in Phoenix he only shot 26% in 23 games played. This year in the G League he's shooting only 28% from 3 and 41% overall. Overall his G League career has him as a pretty efficient scorer so he is no slouch, but maybe his actual shooting ability isn't quite what we saw earlier this year?
I think the notion that he is so important stems from us remembering how successful the team was right before he disappeared. I"m not saying he was the cause to the success, but humans will always tie two and two together. Games where House started we went 6 - 1 Before that you could say with House in the line-up we were on a 11-2 streak. So here is a team on an 11-2 streak, suddenly House disappears and we seemingly begin to be inconsistent. We seemingly start to complain about weakness at the wing spot. We seemingly begin complaining about areas that we only complained about earlier in the season before House. So we say 'we need House'. We say 'He's the missing ingredient to our success, he's the answer'. When the human mind of a Rockets fan remembers House, what they really remember is winning.. and since we are inconsistent right now, and we were losing early in the season before most even heard of the name 'House' we have a large quantity saying he is the answer to solve our problems.
Scoring is not the issue. The defense is the real problem. Our lack of depth at the wing position is what’s hurting us most (obviously that’s exacerbated by Cap being out) but without being able to consistently defend, leads shrink and disappear when the shots aren’t falling. Last year we were so great bc we had two long versatile wings who were perfect for our switching scheme. Offensively, with our approch, volatility just comes with the territory which is why a great defense is vital to offset that volatility.
Forget his rvg stats, his stats with the Rockets were fantastic. He's already proven himself in the NBA
Have you seen the page count in the Huose threads? He is approaching Melo status after playing 3 weeks.
I want House back but you guys have to lower your expectations if/when he gets here. He's not an impact player, he marginally makes us better.
I don’t know how to research the stats but it would make sense if he’s better at catch and shoot 3’s.
That's because once again, just about any scrub can look good next to Harden, if they have a modicum of NBA talent. Look, I'm all for getting him back, but as OP stated, Clutchfans is wildly over rating him. He looked good because of Harden.
The question is if he can help you win games or not …. that answer is a very simple yes. You put him in the corner and he'll make 3's and play solid defense. Not saying he's a great player but he's the teams best option at the position. Tucker cant continue to play 40 minutes a night ….
The biggest problem is the Rox are playing like crap, it makes people clutch at straws and think of man if only House was there he would have saved the game.
