I'm not concerned since he didn't miss a single game the past two years. Do you know how many players we have on this team who haven't missed a single game in 2 years? Only one. Jerry Hughes.
Hmm. A herniated disc? Those injuries don't exactly just go away. I wonder how he's playing at such a high level with that. Lot of the time those discs don't just unherniate themselves. I've heard some anecdotal stories of herniations not being so herniated but not many. I should know, I have some herniated discs, lol. I'm still hyped about this signing though. Just a little cautious about it as well.
There is always some risk paying a 29 year old defensive end quarterback money. However, he was arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL last year, when he led the league in tackles for loss and he should have been an all pro. He has been very good for a long time, 3-4 time all pro in his career. Hunter and Anderson on the ends will be elite if they are healthy. The Texans have a chance to have a nasty defense.
True, but Hunter is getting 2015 QB money not 2024 qb money… the chiefs are paying Chris Jones almost QB money and they seem to know what they are doing. But still, neither is close to 2024 QB money. Kirk Cousins and David Jones are making almost double what Hunter is making. I feel like this is a resounding issue of value we have as a fanbase. We seem stuck in 2015 in our contract valuations, so we think everyone is overpaid when they don’t sign with us or even if we do sign them. But this is just what the market has become. 25 mil is upper-mid tier WR range, not QB range. I think we got Hunter for a steal.
