Hinch is protecting keuchel from that detroit lineup. Its for his psyche. Dallas hasn't pitched a bad game yet. Problem is we need some wins on this 10 game home stand
Yesterday's broadcast had a poll about fans' expectations after the fast start. 1) WS or bust 2) Cautiously optimistic 3) It's early... wait and see 1) 55% 2) 35% 3) 10% Anyone voting above #2 must be oblivious to H-Sports..... sports that matter at least
Hopefully it's just a case of waking up funny. There was no indication from the Marlins game that he left early for any reason other than rest in a decided game. 10-2 at the time and he was at 70 pitches thru 5 with the win wrapped up and a clean performance aside from the first inning.
Hinch mentioned in an interview that Dallas was admittedly not sharp that game, and that went beyond the first inning. Whether it was the nerve or nothing... remains to be seen. They obviously didn't say anything was wrong with him till well after he pitched.
so i have a pitcher friend and he said that in between off periods they warm up up and pitch to a relief catcher,, he said it probably happened during that, which scares me.
yeah, pitchers throw side sessions between starts. I don't think there's any reason to assume it happened while he was pitching vs. lifting weights vs. soft toss with someone vs. sleeping oddly, etc. Can't really say without hearing more.
On track to return Saturday: http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/...-starter-dallas-keuchel-track-saturday-return
SON OF A b****. Why does this **** always happen?? What starts out as a fairly innocuous minor injury turns into a catastrophe......
Jesus Christ. It's not too early to make a trade, there are several teams that are already out of the playoff picture. We're down to LMJ, Fiers (who hasn't been terrible the last 2 weeks), Morton whenever he comes back, and 2 AAA guys who shouldn't be pitching for a first place team. Any McHugh news?
Ok that's not the worst, 60 days has passed I think. Guessing a few minor starts and then he'll be back.
Mother of **** that sucks. Type of injury isn't that concerning but the fact he has to miss with already make shift staff stinks.
I see Keith Jones decided to work for the Astros during the Rockets down time. Spoiler Remember when Mike Fiers was jut removed from the rotation? Good times. Lasted all about a day (if that). Now everyone is down. McCullers - Peacock? Fiers? Paulino? Call up someone every fifth day? Damnnnn. Need some help in here ASAP.
My guess is that McHugh is still probably at least 3 weeks away from playing in a game. Morton is even farther away than that. That leaves Musgrove, who might be about a week away hopefully. Something has to give. We CANNOT afford to tax the bullpen the same way we did in 2015. It catches up to you in October.
So odd. Swore they said he was just sick last night. They never mentioned it being the neck again ugh
