Heartbreaker for me tonight. Did a $5 50/50 where top 15 get paid. I was sitting in 15th place with a 3.25 point lead with less than a minute in the Dallas/Portland game. I had McCollum and Felton going, so I felt pretty good. Wesley hit a 3 with about a minute left that put me down 0.25 points. The game went into overtime and I couldn't make up the lead. McCollum was horrible tonight. Won a $1 double up…so lost $4 on the night. I need to make it up, and then some, for tomorrow.
Ouch. That sucks. I finished with 292.5 which was good enough to double my investment and I also scored a Milly Maker ticket by finishing 1st in a satellite.
I wrote a pretty lengthy blog post today on how I've been winning at NBA lately: http://www.dailyfantasydork.com/2015/12/02/nba-dfs-the-intelligent-guide-to-growth-2/
For now I have John Wall James Harden Paul George Kristaps Porzingis Alex Len Norris Cole Jared Dudley Corey Joseph I'm worried about Len getting in foul trouble against Drummond, but I'm not willing to risk a fade if it doesn't happen since he'll likely be so highly owned.
My highest projected average team I could build so far: PG: Curry SG: Harden SF: Sefolosha PF: Mirotic C: Len G: Wall F: Henson UTIL: Danny Green Projected for 270.
So here's something that's always a concern of mine...one of you has Wall at PG and the other has Curry. (EDIT: Moe, just noticed you have Wall and Curry). Washington is favored by 10 and the Warriors favored by 9...how much do you guys concern yourselves with playing a stud when there is a decent chance they have their minutes reduced due to a blowout? Im leaning Draymond in a lineup because even in blowouts when the starters sit, he still gets his 32+ minutes per game.
I think that is more of a concern for GPPs than for cash games. I rostered Curry last week and he put up 61 points and then sat out most of the 4th Q. You do have to be wary of his ceiling, but my philosophy here is that if the game has gotten out of hand, that means Curry and Wall have already done their damage. What I'm looking for is a good average because I'm mostly playing cash games. If Harden, Curry, and Wall can combine for 140+ tonight I'll be happy.
With the Okafor suspension news just coming down, going to switch from Mirotic to Nerlens Noel and move in Cory Joseph for Danny Green. Lineup now projected at 275.70
I've changed my lineup a little with the Okafor news, as well. John Wall James Harden Paul George Nerlens Noel Alex Len Pat Beverley Jared Dudley Jerami Grant
Chris Paul very limited in warm ups today and questionable for tonight. Griffin's ceiling goes up a fair amount if CP is out. CP has missed 3 games and in one of them, I believe Blake got hurt or something because he barely played. In the other two... 35, 11, 5 34, 9, 8 60+ point potential.
If CP is out and I have time to make a switch, I will go with Blake and Drummond in place of George and Wall. That'll give me 3 guys (Harden, Blake, Drummond) with 50+ point potential. If I dont hear in time, then I might just replace George with Griffin later on.
Ok, screw it...going to make the changes and hope that CP3 is very limited and crying in discomfort. Joseph Harden Dudley Draymond Len Cole Griffin Drummond
Only 263.5 for me tonight. Nerlens was incredibly poor and Len did basically nothing despite a 2OT game.
Ended with 269.25. Scrubs didn't do anything but at least the stars delivered. good enough to cash in gpps and double ups
