Not necessarily hypocrisy. You can voice your displeasure in the roster without outright recruiting other players. He wants a better team, he won't lose his pride or dignity to make sure that happens.

There is a degree of old school mentality I do respect, but he won't win a title or even come close until another superstar wants to play with him.

Gotta play the game if you want to win.

You got to respect that. Neither did hakeem, though he said he dr34med of playing with clyde for years. And please don't use the rockets as forming a super team, those guys were already heading for their mid 30s. And the new age, harden was a trade and dwight was a free agent.

Based on bits of info and quotes here and there I think we can determine that the guy has an ego problem. At least with guys like Kobe their competitiveness almost excuses it. Meanwhile, Rose lets his team get smashed in the playoffs because his 100% healed knee still wasn't strong enough for him to go earn his pay check.

there was no UFA in hakeem's days (unless you were waived), there was no recruiting to be done.

If he hadn't refused to play last year, I could respect his position.

I have always disliked players colluding to form super buddy teams, although the Rockets are now benefiting from it, sort of.

It's up to the next CBA to come up with rules to curb that. As long as it is legal to recruit, they will continue to do that.

So, if you were a bulls fan, are you mad that he's not trying to help improve his team? That's like saying, I wont interview anyone for a job. IF you wanna work for me thats cool, but I wont go out and hire you....

The only reason why he doesn't recruit is because he is socially awkward. Dude is an extreme introvert, probably doesn't know how to even make friends in the league.

He doesn't take the SAT either.
Did he recruit the person that took it for him, or did he leave that for someone else to do?

Let's say Rose did turn to recruiting, what theoretically could work?

    Imagine Drose, Lebron and Dwade.

    Or something ridiculous.

    Post away!

This occured to me. If he's bad at recruiting, it might be more wise to say publically that he's not recruiting in principle. When free agents are choosing their teams they might otherwise say to themselves, 'I don't know about Chicago, I don't think Rose likes me because he didn't call,' and be scared off. Where recruiting is so common it becomes expected, not recruiting might actually push people away.

Well said! I think Rose has an alpha dog mentality,
"I don't need you,YOU need me"...I'm not kissing your butt...
