With trials that seems quicker than anything I would think possible. It seems it would be at least 9 months to make this happen.

The big question is virus mutation. I'm curious if COVID will be the same here in the U.S. as it is in China. It could easily end up being less lethal.

I'm honestly more worried about the economic and mental anxiety related to the virus. People will pull their kids from school, stop attending events, stop eating out. It's going to potentially kill thousands of small businesses who can't withstand a month or two or slow sales. This is going to unintentionally cause a world wide recession.

A dog in Hong Kong tested positive. The Pomeranian is the pet of a man who also tested positive.

If true, Americans will actually care about the affects of the virus now.

If it can spread back and forth between species I’m hiding in my bathtub.

And the fact that the other 'Corona' is originally from Mexico, doesn't help its cause.

Not sure how it works in virii, but Yersinia pestis has a number of specific additional adaptations to enable flea transmission. For instance, it secretes a biofilm that blocks nutrient absorption in the flea's gut which sends them into a hunger frenzy even after they've just fed.

So I'm not sure how likely flea transmission is. I think the flea thing for plague is more about it not being super great at transmitting other ways before its killed its hosts.

    This is great -

"-Quality-control tested by officials from the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Defense for superior reliability

-Offers up to 6 hours of protection from toxic contaminants and radioactive particulates in a hermetically-sealed chamber"

And it's only $949.95!!! only offering 6 hours and costing 1k.. That sounds like an awesome investment!!

Do not worry about cats and dogs. A sample alone especially one found very weak positive means nothing. It would be very abnormal of a coronavirus to spill over to another species ,so soon.
I am sure other labs will try to infect dogs and check the results.

Italy today managed to isolate the strain of their own patients and found it is difderent than china's.
It is amazing how much science has advanced. Based on the mutations they say now can trace the route the virus took to reach Italy from Wuhan, and how long it has been there. It sounds almost like science fiction.
Apparently it has been found it has been plaguing Italy for weeks before discovered.
