Thanks but I tried everything last night. I screwed it up even more, I can't even open up anything. I'm just going to reformat it later today. It is a 4 year old laptop so it might actually be good to finally delete everything I don't need anymore.

I'm going to get a Mac next.

    PLEASE I NEED HELP AGAIN

I reformatted my computer 4 times the past 3 days. Right when I connect to the internet I get some virus and/or spyware. At the moment I have a "your computer is infected" message displaying on my toolbar. It seems there is no way around this. Damn Windows doesn't come with a firewall and I have no idea what to do. My antivirus CD has fatal errors everytime I try to install it. When I do connect to the internet though it does go to the Norton's website where it says I qualify for a free download for Norton's 2007. I try to download and install that and again I get some spyware + a fatal error message. I don't understand how ridiculous this whole process is. I try to open up IE and then I get a C++ error message and it closes everything and my entire system runs slow afterwards.

Then I try to download SP2 and my internet wouldn't work. This makes no sense because I had SP2 before all this stuff started to happen.

Microsoft is a piece of crap. Automatic Update is nothing but useless. It downloads stuff that actually ruins my computer. After the mandatory restart my system crashes. I've never had this problem before.

I can't even get my printer to hook up to my computer.

Is there anything I can do?

Oh yeah, currently I'm using 15.3 GB out of 40. Again, I'm confused because before I reformatted I was only using about 5 total. The only thing I installed right now that takes up a huge amount of space is Microsoft Office and that's not even a full gig. How is this possible?
