Some big tests for a lot of teams in the BCS rankings as well as other teams just looking to see where they are as football team. This week could knock out some of the undefeated teams with some good match ups. Notable Games: Louisiana Tech-Boise St.- ESPN 7 PM CST (TUES) Florida St.-North Carolina St.- ESPN 6:30 PM CST (THURS) Oklahoma St.-Kansas St.- 11 AM CST Miami(FL)-Virginia- ESPN 11 AM CST Northwestern-Indiana- 11 AM CST Clemson-Boston College- 11 AM CST Syracuse-Cincinnati- ESPNU 11 AM CST Tennessee-South Carolina- 11:21 AM CST Tulsa-Notre Dame- NBC 1:30 PM CST Michigan St.-Iowa- ABC/ESPN 2:30 PM CST Missouri-Nebraska- ABC/ESPN 2:30 PM CST Arizona-UCLA- 2:30 PM CST Florida-Georgia- CBS 2:30 PM CST Cal-Oregon St.- 2:30 PM CST Texas Tech-Texas A&M- 2:30 PM CST Auburn-Ol' Miss- ESPN2 5 PM CST Stanford-Washington- Versus 6 PM CST Kentucky-Mississippi St.- ESPNU 6 PM CST Baylor-Texas- 6 PM CST Utah-Air Force- 6:30 PM CST Oregon-USC- ABC 7 PM CST Ohio St.-Minnesota- ABC 7 PM CST Michigan-Penn St.- ESPN 7 PM CST Colorado-Oklahoma- ESPN2 8:15 PM CST TCU-UNLV- 10 PM CST Oregon at USC will be closer than most people think IMO. USC has been playing good though you don't hear about them much... they'll give Oregon a test. Michigan St has a tough task in Iowa against the Hawkeyes, they struggled last week at Northwestern for most of the game. I think Nebraska will really test Missouri, two of the great defenses in Big 12. Should be a good week of CFB.
With this dedicated football forum, we can make some individual threads for some of the bigger games come gameday, right?
Best receiver in the country, Justin Blackmon at Oklahoma State, gets arrested. Dude looks old for a 20 year old in his mugshot. http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?subjectid=93&articleid=20101026_93_0_ACarro324261
You know, I was about to throw UNLV in there - I watched them in a couple of games early and they were seriously among the worst teams I'd ever seen. So I decided to check their schedule, and they're 1-6, with the one win 45-10 over New Mexico. I'm simply in awe. I thought there were high school teams that could compete with UNLV. To lose to them 45-10... New Mexico must have one of the worst D-1 teams of all-time.
I don't know too much about UNLV other than they got a very good true freshman running back from North Shore named Tim Cornett. I don't know how all the schools let him leave Texas. His teammate at North Shore and fellow running back Tracy Woods is having a very solid true freshman season at Miami(Ohio) as well. I think North Texas is pretty bad as well. They recently fired Todd Dodge.
UT is down this year but I am expecting a major blowout with the Horns dominating. They are coming off an embarrassing loss so they should be fully motivated. Robert Griffin is a stud but I don’t think he is going to be enough to get the win in Austin.
Baylor by 7. Griffin will be too much for UT to handle. He dominated them last year and Baylor's team got better while UT got much worse.
I hope Scott keeps playing well. I'm a bit worreid that UCLA had a couple of weeks to prep but regardless, UA should win easily. ALthough i'm worried that the cats will make the game closer than it should be.
UCLA is hit or miss. They looked good versus Kansas State, Houston, and Texas but very bad the rest of their games. They have the worst QB play in the country between Kevin Prince and Richard Brehaut. Matt Scott played very well last game but that was at home. UCLA defense is full of NFL prospects. It should be a close game.
meh. TCU playing a cream puff in UNLV, but still don't want to look past them with Utah next week. I'll be at the A&M/Tech game.
