My bro loves Coldplay so I have to be tolerant. And, he loves playing Coldplay on keyboards...like I love playing Rush on guitar. But, Coldplay does a lot of slower stuff that puts me to sleep. I'm tolerant of the radio hits. I think they've earned their status and place...just no so much my cup of tea. Cheerio!
Honestly they are reaching U2/Radiohead status. U2 hasn't released an album in a long time and Radiohead has become more niche. Coldplay are still going strong and are continuing to make music consistently.
