    I think it's intentional. He could try to land on his feet on every drive but with landing on your feet you also put a lot of stress on them. Falling down might hurt every time but a body with the weight of a wall shouldn't get hurt by falling down as long as he isn't out of control and landing on his head/back.

    a lot of hard drivers land on their feet early on in their career and end up falling a lot once they realise it's a lot better for their feet
