ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Kings 10/18/2017

He actually looks like he cares about defense more than a player trophy. The story for the Rockets has to be their early team defense. It's actually respectable and gritty. The Kings made their runs, but there were no absolute straight line drives and breakdowns in the half court that have plagued the Rockets for three or four years. (As lots of people have noticed, our transition defense isn't up to speed yet but that will come)

And we're competing on the glass. Golden State and Sacramento strike me as top 10 rebounding clubs, we showed good determination as a lot of guys put a body on someone. It's nice that we're not simply talking about defending and rebounding, but we're doing it.

I'm pleased to see improvements.

 

They should want to lose. What do they have to gain by winning really? This is the best case scenario for them...a close loss against a contender.

 

So he's gunning for MIP, then.

Same thing here. Doesn't seem to happen all the time, but my browser/adblocker has been a little wonky lately anyway so I'm going to fool around with things and see if I can't return to the optimal browsing experience I once enjoyed.

Problems w/ the site have traditionally been at the user end in my experience but I might post a thread to feedback if it continues. I always give the site elders the benefit of the doubt first. It's run pretty smoothly for me for 16 freakin' years.

Ah ****, I'm too far off topic...Capela w/ Rodman rebound #'s is a delight to see. Now if we can get Ryno to box out marginally better than an 8 year old girl then we're in business.

Kings aren't tanking. They went and got vets to create a winning culture. The Hill move alone was awesome.

 

When Harden came into the game in the 4th, he was super clutch.

 

Look at the stats:
1. Rockets had 84 FGA
2. Sac had 88 FGA
3. Rox shot 39.8%
4. Sac shot 47.6%

How did we win by 5 pts?
1. Rox had 27/29 ft pts
2. Rox had 43 3pt attempts
3. Sacramento only had 8/10 ft pts
4. Sacramento had 23 3 pt attempts

Midrange shooting teams get very little ft attempts, they get like...non. Don't be dumb like Sacramento and keep asking for more mid range shots.

 

You need to tell Philly that. That place is chernobyl.

 

Great grind it out game after a tough one last night.

Really hope Paul gets back soon to help reduce Harden's mins throughout the season. Otherwise we might see his new focus on defense wear out over time.

 

What do you expect? They got rid of a smart gm like hinkie who makes decisions based on facts and data and replaced him with someone who makes decisions based on his gut.

 

Our second unit is really nice, defensive and offensive...really like how our bench is looking so far.

Same as last year. Seemed like we played most B2B's in the league through first month.
The league ran us through the ringer. I remember our announcers talking about it.
Came out like a boss though. We had a fantastic record on 2nd night of B2B's for some reason.
Let's hope that keeps up
