If the Rockets keep scoring like this, would we want Fred to come back this season?

These are legit fouls though. The Rockets were attacking the basket while the Celtics were jacking up 3s. Boston attempted 44 to Houston's 29.

 

I never wanted Fred back.

 

No, FVV has more than likely played his last game as a Rocket, or at least his last game as a starter.

I get it, but to be honest, we've played several crappy teams so far. I'm wondering if we will miss a PG when the playoffs come round. Hopefully, not.

 

I can see even KD wanting a taller guard anyway.

 

Then one at risk for minute reduction with DFS is Tari and Bari. No idea why we signed DFS...he's redundant

 

Jabaris extension was a damn steal lol. I know the blocks were awesome but I’m almost more impressed by his perimeter defense, he’s really moving his feet nicely and staying in front of most of these wings and guards (Ausar being the only exception for obvious reasons, he’s basically a blur like Amen). If Jabari can keep playing defense like this and continue being a good shooter that’s a perfect role player for a championship squad.

 

He's depth and a better defender than Jabari. His feet are quicker and he's more physical. He also brings a nasty dog element the team is missing.

 

KD load management

 

He was insurance in case Tari gets injured or cant shoot acceptably from 3. It was a good signing. Capella was more questionable, but I think they were also buying insurance in case Adams got injured again. As bad as Capella looks rght now, he is still a better option than Landale. They were betting pretty big on FVV and Reed providing guard depth. Many of us thought that was a mistake, but if Reed makes a jump the gamble paid off. If not we still have plenty of flexibility to make a trade in December.

 

Solid question. And feels weird to say it, but I highly doubt we’d score like this if he played. Some of those super quick outlet passes tonight that led to fast breaks, I caught my self thinking man if Fred was here there’s no way we’d throw this outlet. Fred would walk it up slowly take about 20 seconds or so before trying to make some play. I don’t know. I know he has a study presence and calms the team down. But it was super frustrating to watch sometimes the offense come to a crawl. This has been more fun to watch so far last few games.

He is signed to replace Brooks. But with Okogie playing so well, dude is more than adequate to fill the Brooks role.

Okogie and Brooks are different. Okogie is faster and Brooks is bigger and stronger. But with Durant in the lineup, we are big enough already. DFS becomes a luxury. I've always like DFS's game. I liked the signing. And we still have to worry about injuries to Durant and other guys. We have the depth now.
