ClutchFans Game Thread: Pistons @ Rockets 12/14/2019

Settle down, everyone. Harden ain't gonna score 50 points tonight.

He's gonna score 62.

 

Pistons is 10th in the east. They got Blake and D rose off the bench, who playmakes and can get his shot. They also got a decent coach in Dwayne Casey. Rotation wise because health and age, Casey has been limiting Blake and Rose's minutes this year. There could be line up advantages for Rockets.

Capela has been rebounding well for us, an interesting matchup is to see how well against Drummond, who is league leader in REB (16.6). Capela, Tuck have to box out . Maybe MDA can put in iHart for his size.

Drummond being a rim protector, be interesting to see if it bothers our basket drives (Harden /Rivers /Westbrook). Good practice down the road if we face large teams like Lakers.

On paper, Rockets should win. We still have to play, and a back 2 back win.

 

I'm not worried about our shooting. All James has to do is feed Tucker, House, McLemore and Clemons. They have the best 3 pt percentages on our team. They could each take 10 or more three's a game. Also, I'd like like to see more ally oops to Clint from James.

As for our rebounding, well somebody better step up with Russ out. We don't need any lack of hustle with our Houston Hustler on the sideline. I just want to see Hartenstein get at least 10 minutes for a change. Give him minutes from now until playoffs and let him develop. He needs to start taking more shots when he's in, especially from the 3.

An 8 o’clock game? That’s a change. Can James score 50+ again? 50+ 3 games in a row? It would be epic. He’s capable of doing it. I’ll be shocked if Detroit doesn’t double him. Teams are crazy not to try it. If they do, our shooters have to make them pay. Fingers crossed on that.

At some point, they've got to look at adjusting the starting lineup. Can't afford to keep having slow starts to games. That starting lineup just isn't working (with or without Westbrook).
