Here is an NBA sci-fi question for you. Let's assume you could clone a player multiple times, so that all 5 players on the court were the same person. What individual would make the best "team"?

For all time, I would pick Bird, because I always thought he had the best all around game. Although I could make good arguments for Jordan, Magic and many others.

For current players, I would go with McGrady or Bryant.

    Any thoughts?

    Magic, hands down.

Contemporary players? Either KG or Kobe. Maybe Kidd.

Cloning Francis may be the only way to get Steve pissed that he's not passing the ball.

A team of Iversons would be pretty fun. Also, can you imagine the passes you'd see on a team full of Stocktons?

Past: Wilt, he was also a track star so he should keep up. He also led the league in assists so passing should not be an issue. Scoring, rebounding, defense. The only problem would be in FT shooting.

Present: It has to be Garnett. I think Duncan is better, but I don't think he is fast enough to be everyone on the team. McGrady would be an interesting team as well.

    i like larry bird.

    kg would be okay too.

team of kidds will have no post game or spot up shooting, a team of duncans will struggle to bring the ball up.

I like KG too.. I think Dirk would be a good choice too. Even though he doesnt post up he can dribble shoot and pass.

All-time? Larry Mafreakin Bird. The Basketball Jesus is my favorite player, and he could do it all. In fantasy circles, he may have been the first C/F/G.

Current player would have to be KG. By a fair margin. Dude is a straight-up freak.

DFW_Rockets_Fan, good to see you post again! Okay, if all five players are the same, then you must have someone tall enough to play center and handle the ball well enough to play point. Magic Johnson is the only player ever to play all five positions in one game. For all their game, Jordan, Francis, McGrady etc. would be too short and centers like Kareem, the Dream etc. not good enough as ball handlers and outside shooters. Therefore, present day, I would go with Tim Duncan and for the past I would go with Larry Bird.
