The Clippers did him a favor. Now maybe Gentry can get a job with a real team. The problem starts at the top with a penny-pinching owner. Players know they won't be staying long and start thinking about padding their stats to improve their post-Clipper future. Morale is terrible and teamwork is non-existant. If the ownership doesn't care about winning, why should the players? Coaching the Clippers has to be one of the worst 5 jobs in sports. I would rather be Director of Homeland Security in Iraq.
It's about time. Gentry is a HORRIBLE coach. I don't care what type of issues the players have with looking over their shoulders and knowing they won't be around; they are a very talented team. With talent like that, you should be a winner and it's the coaches job to get the players on the same page and lead them to victory. Gentry isn't capable of such a thing. They should of canned him before the season and got a good young guy in the mold of Mussleman and Bzdelik.
