I'm telling you guys 12/22 is the day to watch.

I'm a negotiator and so is Stone.

This is a hard deadline. Harden will be traded by 12/22 or he will stay in Houston for the season.

This is very interesting, I don't see much point in extending Tucker without Harden.

I'm telling you 12/22/2020 is the biggest day in the Harden Era so far.

IT's either the end, or the beginning of something new with Harden.

It feels like the Rockets are forcing resolution of one sort or another...... either Harden realizes he can be a Rocket with an extension or he can go to a team he doesn't want to go to...... or the Sixers really step up there offer........ same with the Tucker negotiations.

Even if Harden is gone ... Tucker would be a great mentor as his starts to decline down the mountain...

but, this makes me think they’re possibly using this as preparation for the IF... harden stays

I believe that a lot of this media push is because 12/22 is approaching.

It's the last day to extend PJ and Harden.

PJ only gets an extension if Harden is willing to buy in for now at the very least.

I think the Rockets love PJ and want him to get paid. Sadly if Harden won't commit for the year or an extension (silencing talks just for now) then the Rockets may trade PJ to a team who is willing to commit long term to PJ. Maybe Philly, Maybe Brooklyn, Maybe Phoenix. Wherever it may be. The Rockets want to make sure PJ is taken care of.

If PJ is extended, he cannot be traded for a certain period of time ( i believe a full season), so if the team needs to rebuild, PJ being under contract probably hurts them ducking the luxury tax.

We basically have 2 business days to get PJ extended and Harden to buy in.

If Harden buys in. The Rockets have 3 new FRP to improve the team quickly.

Oh, didn't know that about the extension date. Thanks.

Maybe just a gesture for his work here. I wouldn't mind it if it doesn't handicap us. If we are going the rebuilding route, two years of old tucker makes no difference one way or another.

The question is why would he stay for the rebuild

I’m also wondering if the release this morning had more to do with leveraging Harden into an extension...ie “ Sign the extension or we are trading you to Siberia.”

We have to remember that what’s playing out in the media is not reality. It’s just messaging meant to influence. It may have elements of the truth, but it’s not the full truth...we won’t get that.

My hope is there is a deal out there that will clinch an extension from Harden. House and picks for Anunoby, Gordon and picks for Aaron Gordon...something that will make Harden think he’s on a contender.

They want to trade Harden but are working on Tucker? Keep Harden. Extended Tuck. Trade Wall.

    It does handicap the team.

    He becomes untradeable this year.

If Harden is gone. You're ducking the luxury tax.

PJ is the easiest way to do so.

PJ extension talks is part of recruiting James to stay.

I actually didn't think about House + picks for OG. That's quite enticing.

I think OG is a supplemental star. I would love that. (He's getting paid soon though).

This conflicts with Woj. They have decided on Harden and he's staying or they are working a deal with Tucker (for another team) to leave with Harden and a deal is happening soon.

Good, I'm glad they are making a real effort to patch this up, if so.

Yeah, the latest media volleys are definitely coming from the team side of things.

It almost feels like the Rox FO is saying, "You want to start a war in the media, do ya? Okay, we'll be happy to show you how it's done."

He doesn't care about the situation; he cares about his contract. This is likely his last contract that won't be a veteran's minimum deal.

I like this line of thinking, though I’d be incredibly skeptical that TF would use the pics or spend the money to improve the team.

Also, what can the team do now that they are hard capped? Seems as though we are asking for a lot of things to go just right in order to have Harden buy in and improve the team.
