Listen, I know Christian Wood sucks at defense and can't set a pick to save his life, but he was still one of the Mavs best players. Are they really just going to let one of their best players walk in free agency every single year without recouping any assets in return?

I know many here were critical of the return Stone received for him, but by god, at least he received a return! I'm going to laugh really hard if Kyrie decides to leave too. Where do we think Luka will demand a trade to? LA or Miami?

I certainly hope not. I'm just enjoying

A.) watching Dallas continue to fail hard and push Luka out of the door
B.) more humbling of Christian Wood

Wood should go to Miami. That is one of the few set ups that I think could maximize him, and the culture could fit him to be accountable.

I think with Kyrie unsigned, the Mavs will have around max cap space and obviously resigning Wood would take that away so they have no choice but to renounce his hold. Obviously if Kyrie resigns right away then keeping Wood would be more of an option but his chemistry with that team was pretty terrible this year. It's actually hard to find a team that'll want to sign him. Probably a capped out team will give him an MLE hoping he can be that one last piece.

I would resign Wood in a heart beat. We missed his 3pt shot last yr and similar to Sengun, they lacked the defensive want to. I think Udoka can get him to play defense, same for Sengun. It's about coaching.

The Rockets don't need much; bench players, shooting and a defensive center. If we can get Brandon Miller out of the draft, Seth Curry, CWood and Jaxson Hayes....I AM GOOD.

With that backcourt, they can't afford to have a total nothing like Wood on defense in the frontcourt. They probably actually improve their win total with an MLE guy who's a rim protector, even if that guy is just a dunker and nothing else.

Wood is a much less talented version of KAT.

Jimmy Butler would break him mentally and he might not ever recover.

Mavs will be better off without wood and Kyrie. Any team that aims high should avoid these players.

Another guy that just doesn’t seem to fit into a team concept. Empty stats. Sure he’s talented and can be strategically used in effective ways, but he plays selfish basketball. That’s why he’ll never be a great player despite his talent. Detroit didn’t want him, we didn’t want him, Dallas didn’t want him. Can’t wait to see who pays for the ticket on the Wood-no-heart ride despite the evidence.

I’m betting he gets $7 mil on an 1-yr deal after a lengthy and disappointing free agency.

That “return” on Wood. What would TyTy, Josh Christopher, and the clippers pick all together get you in a trade; pick wise or player wise?
