Don't mean to bash on the kid. It's just that Hack is not the QB we need for this team.
He's the QB we already have.

    Move up and get Wentz/Goff.

    Henry 2nd.

    Hack in the 6th.

Surround Hackenberg with a dominating defense and a good running game and we can win. I'm a firm believer in the fact that Obrien's system is more of a mental game than a physical one. He has already proven he can succeed in this system (albeit in college) which is why it makes sense to me.

However, I would not get him with the 22nd pick unless they think someone will get him before the Texans pick again. Late in the 1st round, I say we get a an OL or a falling defensive line prospect (Nkdemiche cough cough).

If you move up, the first chip that you loose is your 2nd rounder, in addition to future firsts.

Hack seems to have the most apologist out there. No matter how bad he looks it's not his fault.

it's disturbing you're drafting a QB just cause your head coach coached this guy for 1 freaking single season a couple of years ago. It's like you're totally overlooking the flaws this kid got and ignore the fact that at best he's a 2nd round QB material. Not to mention he was pretty much just mediocre throughout his college career.

That was the same logic for getting Mallet and Hoyer

Besides Cleveland, who else will likely draft a QB? I know some think the 49ers, but if Kaep's staying, doesn't make sense if they draft a QB...

St Louis. Maybe NYJ. And there are the bears and saints who might be looking to draft their successor if one of the top QBs in the draft is available to them.

Cleveland, Dallas, St. Louis, Chicago, New Orleans, Jets and even potentially the Eagles, despite the contract they just gave Bradford, could all justify taking a QB. You could even argue the Giants.

Anything's possible - but I'd be shocked if Buffalo took a QB at all, let alone 1.

And if Miami grabs a QB at 8, I'd absolutely offer them something for Tannenhill. He's an upgrade over last year; likely better than any QB available @ 22; good enough to consistently get you into the 9-11-win plateau; still young/raw/inexperienced enough to be mold-able.

And he wouldn't preclude you from taking a flier in round 3 or 4 if, say, Hackenberg falls to you.

If he's been bad in relative terms to the Jets other options, I'd say the Texans have made the correct decisions so far...

This thread seems incredibly out of place after we signed Osweiler. Never thought that would have happened.

It's pretty funny looking back at all the guys who were guaranteeing that the Texans would draft him because BOB coached him for a bit in college.

The only time he looked like a legit QB is when BOB coached him. Maybe the guy knows a thing or two about football.
