Having Burke and Bruntlett at the top of the lineup hurt last night.

As I said before, Burke is worst starting hitting corner outfielder in the league and second worst offensive starting player behind Cristian Guzman.

    I'd rather have Soriano.

I'd rather have Luke Scott... because at least we know he can hit a long ball.

Maybe this thread will provide Burke with a little spark. I think Ausmus hit ~.320 in the month after Baqui99 started his last thread bashing an Astro.

i actually see improvement in chris burke. i was on his case big time at the beginning of the year. i recognize his numbers aren't great.

the at-bat he had in SF with 2 outs and no one on before they rallied for a big inning was one of the best at bats i've seen from any major league hitter all season long. i'm dead serious.

Burke has the speed when he is on base to steal and get in scoring position...the only problem is he doesn't get on base much.

For being touted as the best major league ready position player we had...he definently is a bust to me. Send his butt back down and get him some confidence and bring up Scott or anyone that can hit some hard liners and make something happen.

That was a good at bat, but you can't have 300 at bats in between each good one, it just isn't acceptable. He offers nothing to the team at the moment. He isn't a good outfielder and he is a horrible batter... the only thing he can step up and do well is pinch run, lol.

At least Lamb has provided timely hits and did something decent for this team compared to Burke.

Everett and Ausmus both play great defense at their positions... Burke is horrible in the outfield, and the way Biggio is playing he's not going to see any action until Bidge reaches 3,000 hits.
