I didn't deny capitalism has played a role in easing up China's economic situation. The problem I have with your arguments is that you focus too much on vertical analysis while virtually ignoring horizontal comparisons.
I think you are getting defensive for nothing. Where is the claim that communist ideology is succeeding while capitalism is failing? The fact is, there are socialist-communist countries beating child hunger better than some capitalism-democratic countries, China and Cuba to be exact; therefore, the simple logical conclusion, Capitalism and Democracy is NOT NECESSARY better than Socialism or Communism, in the battle against child hunger. In other words, capitalism and democracy is NOT A MUST to beat child hunger. One single counter instance can deny any generalization. What are we still arguing about, especially "along Cold War lines"?
