The only way keepers make sense is if we have to forfeit a pick. It keeps the competition balanced and gives everyone a shot at winning.

The moes system is far more unfair than the current system. I gave my reasons why in the last thread. But anyway we all voted and hashed out the system already, and Rook's gone ahead and implemented what he chose. I and half the group voted against the keepers entirely, but I'm not griping about it now. Just deal with it, imo, and enjoy the league.

I don't understand why there's always so much complaining about the draft order or the email or whatever every August. This league is always a b****fest.

Yeah, the time for debate was back when the voting was taking place, before the draft order was set. Just have to go with it now.

It was never clear what the details of the vote would be. I cast a keeper vote well before knowing we wouldn't be forfeiting anything. That's just weird, I've never heard of that before. Didn't think it was even an option.

Agreed. Fade, it was not dealt with, and Sam, my jokes about getting a late round draft position are just that, A JOKE. Christ.

We never resolved the keeper issue, half didn't want it, so IMO it should be put forth after this draft. I'm sure some would have drafted different if we knew this would be a keeper league last year. But whatever, this is kind of why I quit the baseball league. It should be simple, not Calculus III or Abstract Linear Algebra.

I actually assumed it would be keeper next year, that's why I suggested whoever wins the title should get to pick if it is a keeper or not since the votes were even. Either way, I still want a keeper this year but I'm down to play whatever. Just putting in my 2ยข's.

    Man,

I have to admit you guys are the whiniest group I have ever got the privilege to meet, worse than my wife sitting around with her three best friends all going through a bitter divorce - discussing guys.:p

I was trying to think of something a little more fun to add to this league, to kind of change it up some and like the idea of a keeper type system (as well as waiver wire), as it has been great in our baseball league.

I will admit I didn't at the beginning describe how we would implement it very well, partially because I was looking for some different options that we could look at. When I finally put it to a vote, I said that we would make it be just basically one keeper (like it is done in every other keeper league in fantasy sports - like our baseball) - not based on draft choice after Sam clearly explained a great reason why that was a horrible idea.

Second, the vote was for it to start this year and when it came down to a tie, I just made an executive decision to go with it and if people freaked out I would respectfully just step away, because for me I do this for fun - when that is no longer there, then its time to move on.

Third, those that actually say they would have drafted differently the year before if they knew we were implementing this are so full of you know what, I can't say much more...............

In the end, I really don't care as I have always enjoyed doing these fantasy leagues, more than any because of the great friendships/competitiveness many of us have had over the years, while playing these leagues. It just seems, in the past few years, to become more and more just a bunch of whining /crying over every little thing, instead of just having fun like we used too. The only thing back and forth was the smack talk.........

After all it is said and done, by having a keeper for everyone (as I review every roster it is easy to pick at least one from every team) is fair, it is like we have done Round 1 of the draft already and starting with round 2. The hopes of having a keeper league, though I would have liked more than 1, is possibly it opens up some more trading (it might not, but it can't hurt to add one more element to the equation).

Lastly, I'm not going to address the draft order, because that was done fair - case closed!

So if you don't like it and feel like I am doing something wrong, please email me through the BBS and I will have no problem letting you take over, but need to do that before Saturday - so we can get a replacement for me in here.

I love all you guys and love playing with all of you, but don't need all these headaches.........God knows I have enough health issues I am dealing with currently.

I definitely wouldn't have traded McCoy and went after CJ2K and Hillis to cause upsets late in the year if I knew it would matter the following season. Just an example, I actually want the keeper, not complaining.

    Voicing an opinion is not crying Rook. Like this;

It just would have been nice to know this by you posting this on the original thread, not 2 days before the draft. As you see, more than a few had questions about this, we didn't know how it was supposed to work because you never posted your decision. Just sayin'.

Calm down braj. We all good.

I don't really see anyone whining. I see a legitimate discussion taking place.

The keeper system was voted in, and in its current incarnation, the people with high round picks may appear to have a huge advantage, but somebody will draft this years Graham and Gronk late and so I think maybe Ziggy and Longhorn should look at it that way.

I may have the last pick, but I have the option of keeping LeSean McCoy, so it isn't like the system clearly favors only those who win the lottery.

    Just my opinion.

At any rate, I will abide by the rules implemented and my keeper remains Jimmy Graham.

    Alright.

So to recap, we'll just go thru this year's draft as Rook implemented... 1 keeper kept with no penalty towards draft pick and draft in the order that was given.

I just want to know for sure so I can get my draft strategy going.

Yes, that is what we will be doing.

And if anyone has a problem with that, they can kick rocks.

LH, my comment earlier wasn't about you, but a general pattern I've seen over the years.

I guess I'll keep my overrated QB Phillip Rivers since I have zero other players on my roster worth ****.
