Can somebody help me with the chat. I can't seem to get into the chat anymore. I get stuck at connected to irc.webstermaster.com:7000 waiting for data. I never had problems before. Just the last month or so. Really sucks not being able to say hi to surfguy while waiting for the game to start and watching all the cursing ppl being booted after a loss. So if anybody can help, I would greatly appreciate it. I did upgrade to the latest Sun Java.
You might want to start using a dedicated chat client, like mIRC. Either that or keep trying on the java chat. I've had some difficulties in the past but seemed to get in after a couple of tries.
I'm trying to run on MIRC now. But I'm getting this error: Connect retry #12 irc.webmaster.com (6667) - * Unable to resolve server Any ideas? Maybe DoD put me on ban list by accident?
No, it was on purpose. j/k. There are no bans in there at the moment... try clearing out your cache or something. Or do what R2K posted in the other chat thread. I and others are in the chat right now. I got in using both mIRC and the java chat applet.
I know this isn't exactly where this should go, but I didn't feel it was worth it's own thread or distracting the flow in the chat room itself. Anyway, what is it to "voice" someone? Also, why does what I write in there come up in the gayest possible shade of purple? I can't seem to change it.
Um, uh, I was also just messing around! I changed my nick to MINGSPIN and typed "voice me b****" thinking I wasn't able to speak. Now I am banned from the almighty chat. R2Kenobi, you're my only hope...
hahaha...you dumb*ss with that many ppl in the room, there is no way I can keep track of nick changes. Had I known it was you...I would have just kicked ya. Hell, you're lucky it is me...Im pretty sure Doc would +b you for a week for that.
I'm having a problem, I can get into the chat fine, but when i'm there and i try to send something it says could not send, you have to be voiced to speak, what does that mean?
the room is probably muted that happens when the game is tight in the 4th quarter and instead of having everyone talk at once, only the people who are voiced can talk (usually whoever is doing pbp)
When chat is moderated, nobody but people "with voice" can chat. This is so 100+ people yapping doesn't render the pbp useless.
sorry about that flyer I was joking around with the settings yesterday and then forgot to turn off moderated when I left. If that ever happens again you just PM one of the mods to either voice you, or to turn off moderated. moes came in at one point and turned it off luckily.
