It also gets cold here in the winter time. So we have to use a lot of energy per capita keeping warm and getting around. Sweden is cold too, but they have 9 million people, a little less than a third of Canada’s population, in an area about 1/20 the size of Canada. The also don’t have the kind of industry we have that produces lots of greenhouse gasses, namely the petrochemical industry.
