Who Is He? Isaiah Canaan! Point guard from Murray State.

Where Is He From? Biloxi, Mississippi.

    Measurables: 6-foot, 188 pounds, 6-foot-5 wingspan

    Years Played: Four

Murray State Stats: 21.8 ppg, 4.3 apg, 43 percent FG, 37 percent 3P

    NCAA Tournament Stats: N/A

His Game in 40 Words or Fewer: Worst-case scenario, it sounds like he has all the makings of a lighting-quick scoring guard off the bench who terrorizes teams for 20 minutes, then shoots himself back to the bench. We all love guys like that.

Scouting Report Tidbit: “In workouts, he has stood out and even outplayed players ranked ahead of him. He could be this year’s sleeper. His draft night range is 15 to 30.” (Via ESPN Insider.)

    Projected Range: 15 to 35

Where Will He End Up? No. 23 to Indiana? Why not?

Why Your Team Should Draft Him: Because it sounds like he could be a solid point guard option for any number of terrible teams in the NBA. But put him on a good team, behind good players, with a coach that can help him harness the talent? He could turn into an excellent seventh or eighth man, and possibly a fun irrational confidence guy who terrorizes people in the playoffs. If backup point guard is a need for a team in the 20s, then hey, why not?

Nice work. You should do this for all our players and make this a player profile thread for easy reference

From what I saw of him in the last game: getting blocked by the rim at end of third quarter for Harden's triple double. Let's hope he starts playing better than that.

He's going to rip the freaking rim off the backboard with some funk jams and slams, bro!

I bet he goes for 30 and 15 tonight and makes Asik look like Amare on the Suns and wins ROY 2014 by 200 votes

Canaan will correct Lin's TO problem because he's the consummate professional and ultimate team player with a Bobby Fisher like aptitude to ball handling. Lin will get sent to D League tomorrow anyway because his services are no longer needed

When Bev comes back next year he'll only get to play during garbage time because Canaan gets it done on both ends of the floor. Good thing for Bev is there will be garbage time every game next year because Canaan will lead the Rox to blow out every team.

Canaan's superior abilities will make Harden redundant since they both need the ball to be effective. Harden goes back to leading a second unit and won't complain because by then it'll be clear who the real alpha dog is

we don't need him to score. all we need him to do is defend. on ball pressure. energize guy like Bev. Maybe occasionally hit that 3 pointer.

I think we need him to score. Our bench is all of a sudden minus Jeremy Lin with a remainder of Casspi, Hamilton, Donuts, and...Garcia? I guess losing two starters will do that to your depth.

How many minutes do you guys think he will get? Wont they just bump Garcia up some?

Depends how well he plays. If he keeps under control, plays well defensively and doesn't take anything but wide open threes he could play 18 minutes a night. More likely he sees garbage time and Garcia steps in. But Morey has faith in him so who knows.
