Or you could flip it around and say, 20% > 2 x 9%... not that I am for tanking.

Was really banking on Cam to at least provide the scoring punch vacated by AS, the play-in is tight rope mode, but having no Eason and now AS/Cam, its real slim to none, but strange things have happened before, cheers to either a Warriors/Lakers collapse

It's sad and worrisome to see all these injuries to our young players. They're very valuable for our Houston Rockets.

This puts a lot of pressure on Jalen and Amen . . . . And I like it.

What does it say about the Spurs and Wemby when they can't beat this Rockets team without Sengun, Cam and Tari, arguably the teams 3 best players sitting on the trainers table and the Spurs can't win with a dude that's supposed to be the new best big thing.

    LoL that team sucks.

nothing. The spurs aren't supposed to be a good team right now. They suck. That's just common sense

the next big thing is all about way down the line and has nothing to do with now. They were always going to be one of the worst teams in the league this year.

    8. Cam Whitmore, Houston Rockets

Season stats: 12.1 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.5 apg
    Last Ladder: No. 8
    Draft pick: No. 20
    Impact on winning: +15 (30-35 vs. 15-50)

Playing up from the disappointment of his Draft position hasn’t hurt Whitmore and probably has helped him.

    9. Amen Thompson, Houston Rockets

Season stats: 7.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.3 apg
    Last Ladder: No. 10
    Draft pick: No. 4
    Impact on winning: +15 (30-35 vs. 15-50)

One of the brightest spots in Houston’s 3-1 week, averaging 10.3 points with a +5.8 rating.

It honestly doesn't mean anything. Yeah, they suck but would probably avoid wins even if they could get them. In 2007, Seattle drafted KD and got Jeff Green from Boston as their rookies. Along a team of mostly veterans they limped on to win 20 games and had the 2nd worst record in the league. In KD's second season they won 23 games. That was on purpose. Their record didn't reflect KD's talent level at all. He was obviously the new best big thing and they were trying to draft a supporting cast around him.

Yeah but even in the ludicrous @DaDakota scenario where there was a 100% chance of successfully moving down, no penalties are applied, the team doesn't mind, and Whitmore's injury is part of a grand conspiracy involving the disappearance of the princess of Wales,

.... it still unclear if it nets out the diminution in value of Brooklyn being pushed down slots, which hurts the Rockets top 4 chance as that pick goes from 26% top 4 to 20% or even as low as 13% if Utah responds by tanking harder to stay bottom 10 (which they should, in that instance )... AND you get the diminution in value of wherever that pick ultimately ends up (expected value of 8- wherever it is, 9-11)

In the real world it's as if you ran an experiment saying - would you pay $100 for a 10% chance at $980 to 1020?

Even though the math makes it seem even, if you ran the experiment it would be 100-0

I really hope the staff can evaluate Cam's play style a bit in the off-season. The landings from dunks and his general playstyle make me worry about his long term health.

Injuries derailed our season. Jabari, brooks, and Tari going down simultaneously destroyed our defense. Brooks still hasn’t recovered and now we lost Sengun and Cam. We have made tremendous progress.

Jabari got to show up now on offense. No Sengun, no Cam. . I hope he makes the best use of this opportunity

In Astros language, it means out for half of next year.
