A lot of similarities with these two. Not saying Cade will crash and burn..quite the opposite.

Both with great handles for 6' 8".
    Sweet J
    Court vision/passing
    Solid defense

While Walt's pro career was a long profitable one, it was rather pedestrian compared to what was expected after his time at Maryland, which culminated with a 27/6/4 season.
He was 22 when he came out.

At 19, Cade is poised to become everything and more....

The Wizard deserves our respect as he was a part of that dark era where we were throwing hands on a regular basis

Walt Williams averaged 7, 3, and 1 as a freshman

Stop the cap. Shane was a soft player that never drove to the basket.

Rudy moved him to Stretch 4 and he thrived. Yet Rudy didn’t just play him there???

Shane couldn't handle the ball like Cade...not close to being the scorer/distributor.

Yeah I don’t see the Battier comp, I see a less athletic TMac, Luka-lite, Grant Hill post injury, Brandon Roy pre-injury type player.

I'm down with the less athletic TMac comp......That's a good one too.

This. Comparisons are fun, but we're talking about a different class of prospect here. The Wizard made 2nd team All-ACC as a senior with those big scoring numbers, but Cade was a Naismith finalist as a freshman and went 1st team All-Big XII. Walt was drafted 7th overall at age 22. Cade is 19 and is practically a lock to go No. 1.

and somehow Cade only dishes/dished two assists more per game when you compare freshman stats in totally different eras. (lets not look at the usage numbers though).

Battier had a great NBA career and better college career than Cunnigham. Not sure why its a bad thing to be compared to him. Play styles? OKAY!

It's just not a good player comp, similar sized wings but their roles will be completely different.

Cade is scorer and ball handler, that was not Battier.

But Battier was much more advanced defensively.
