1St. I don't think they ever stopped looking into those emails.
2nd. if the F.B.i was some way compromised it was because of the current administrations involvement .

I like to believe that the Mueller investigation was about more than just the Russian involvement into the election as it will shoe in the end.

I wonder how effective this stuff even is as a PR strategy. What % of people still care a great deal about what happens with Hillary Clinton (or any losing Presidential candidate)? She doesn't even hold an elected position anymore and isn't the leader of the opposition Democratic party.

When the FBI suggested that the DoJ not indict Hillary?

    or

When James Comey came out in the last week of the election, made a questionable statement of the FBI "looking into more Hillary related emails" (which in the end added nothing to Hillary email case) and threw the election to Trump?

    Just imagine for 2 seconds...

In 2013, Barrack Obama calls Eric Holder and asks him to launch an investigation on Mitt Romney. How would the FoxNews nutjobs react to that?

It just can't be stated clearer that we are watching our country turn into an Authoritarian regime. Our own president is weaponizing his own justice department against his political enemies.

Sure... if Hillary broke laws, then she should pay the price. However... that comes out in normal everday checks and balances... NOT by the President watching FoxNews, listening to crackpot conspiracy theories, and ordering his own justice department to punish him perceived political enemies.

If you are okay with this, you are actively supporting the rise of authoritarianism. There is no clearer ways to judge you as an American if you are okay with this type of behavior.

Oh I think its an incredibly stupid political strategy if they do actually get to the point where she gets called to the hill and gets drilled by nutcase GOP Congressman like Jim Jordan or whatever his name is.

There is no other way it will be viewed than Trump and the GOP creating a political side-show hit job and will turn Hillary into a martyr.,,, which honestly she probably doesn't deserve to be. The biggest punishment the GOP and Trump could give Hillary and the old school Democrats is to resist giving them any time of day and make them irrelevant.

Yes... there are still people that watch FoxNews that have hated her for 30 years that attend Trump rallies who are sick people who will LOVE watching her get drilled in a hearing. They will hate watch it on replay 2 times a week because NOTHING gets right wing nutcases more excited than Hillary Clinton. That's the only reason why this is even being contemplated now.... as a way to distract the 32% who watch FoxNews religiously. The other 70% of Americans will view Hillary as more of a sympathetic character, and history will view her as a martyr & victim of an authoritarian mad man.

So yeah... its stupid and shortsighted like everything they do.

It would be great if congress spend all their time in 2018 on this, the less GOP does the better off we are as a country. I don't care if they put Hillary in jail, go GOP!

If spending all their time going after Hillary keeps them from passing terrible legislation like the GOPTaxScam or rolling back legislation that allows oil drilling off the coast of all our states without the post BP spill regulations... then maybe it is a good thing for all of us.

Unfortunately, it isn't just Trump, though. Congressional Republicans are very much in on this march deeper into authoritarianism. House Republicans are pouring through Fusion GPS' bank records to try to destroy their credibility and Senate Republicans are pushing for criminal charges against Steele, the guy who did the research in composing the famous dossier.

All the while, questionable candidates are being packed into courts and into key positions in agencies conducting these investigations, including US Attorneys in NY, where the state is investigating (finally) Trump's money laundering history. The Republican regime is going all out to kick the legs out under law enforcement to protect their control of government. And they are sending a clear message to anyone who may come forward about or pursue the truth regarding Russia's involvement in Trump and the RNC.

All of this is an attempt to thwart law and order and to punish political enemies who dare to challenge the ruling regime. This is very much banana republic stuff. And our media is not equipped to deal with it. We will soon be back to the false equivalency of both sides being under FBI investigation, etc. without investigating the merits, the impetus, or the goals of these investigations or their significance to the state of democracy in out republic.

If they manage to survive by turning the law enforcement apparatus of the state against their political enemies, they will have bought time to do much, much worse. Maybe good in the short term, with respect to passing legislation, but a long term disaster.

Yes I was half heartily joking. Agree with your other take as well. The GOP from the top down is up to their chin in corruption with the sole purpose of holding onto whatever power they think they have left in this country, and they are showing us right in front of our faces the lengths they are willing to go to hold onto the power.

This all started back years ago when the Republican party was assessed after the Obama loss, by Riance Priebus mind you, about what the party had to do in order to survive over the next 20 years with a platform that keeps them elected. Instead of choosing a route that adjusted to winning elections and running a government that works for the majority, they went in the opposite direction mostly led by the right wing media that made Donald Trump into what he is today.

I don't necessarily blame "the media"... meaning FoxNews, Roger Ailes, etc. I blame the party fully utilizing it as a propaganda outlet to serve their interests. The GOP use of FoxNews has been utterly horrifying for this country.

Now all of them are not only complicit, but they are burning the house down on their way out the door. They know the majority of the country hates them, so they are actively using Trump as a vehicle to raid the food pantry, grandpas liquor cabinet, and burn the house down on their way out.

If you think they are bad now, just wait till if they win again in November and retain the House & Senate. You think its bad now, just wait. They are only acting the way they are now because they think they are getting wiped out later this year. You will see a more emboldened & brazen authoritarian regime than you can ever imagine this country could turn into in such short notice.

Im sure Trump and the GOP will apologize and retract months of falsely claiming his criminality and smearing his reputation.

This. There is no doubt in my mind that the GOP and Trumps weaponized Justice dept is already getting ready for this. Biden, Harris, Booker, Warren, Sanders. They should just assume now that they will be under investigation.

Let's be honest here, there are less blacks and minorities, gays and transgender welcomed in Russia than the US because of those liberals - that's why these guys like Bobby and Bigtexxx align themselves with Russia more than a Clinton or Obama. I mean, duh!

He doesn't get that mishandling classified material is not a crime. It happens all the time even amongst military personnel. It is a crime when it is done intentionally. But that's the right for you. Facts mean little to them.

They care more about justifying their low-life opinions than the truth.
